Family Hospice was wonderful; they really cared, and they were able to come in immediately to take care of your needs. It's so much better than being at the hospital. They were very caring and responsive to your needs.

The people whom we dealt with at Family Hospice and Palliative Care were very compassionate and kind. They stepped in and took over my mom's comfort meds -- which they had a hard time finding the right dosages for her -- so it was a trying time, but they were all very supportive and very kind.

My father was under the care of Family Hospice for maybe 6 weeks. In this short period of time they said they were removing him from hospice care even though he has a lethal disease. On top of that they were discharging him saying the Vets were going to take over his care. After many phone calls by me complaining and wondering where his help was another agency took over. It took two weeks and by that time my father had an infection from his catheter. He is now in the hospital thanks to their lack of care.

We had a home health aid that comes in. When my father-in-law was in an assisted living facility, they were coming to see him 4 days a week. Now that he is at home, the home health aid is only coming two days a week. They come and bathe him; the nurse checks him. The social worker was working with us as well to try to find him other resources in the community. They even have a physician who makes health calls and comes in. The home health aid is just like a member of the household. She knows where everything is. She’s really good with him because he can be quite irritable at times. She’s able to motivate him and do what he needs. They’re not intrusive in any way. They always call before coming out. I don’t know what I’d do without Family Hospice and Palliative Care.
