We had Senior Helpers for a while, but we quit using them. We used them for four weeks. The husband and wife owners were very nice. The only problem that we had was we wanted the same caretaker, and we weren't able to get that. The one caretaker that we had was only 19 years old. She had no experience doing that, and the day she was with my mother, she was scared and she kept calling my sister. She was very apprehensive in what my mom wanted. We had a very strange situation with the girl. She gave us her name, and when we checked her out, it was a 30 something year-old woman. When we rang her, she happened to be a friend of ours, a granddaughter, and we saw her face on Facebook. She lied to the agency, and she lied to us about who she was, and what her name was to get the job. That threw us off totally for her to get that job. We thought if they would do that once, maybe they would do that again. We told them about it, that they better check her because we told her what her name really was, not the name that she had given them. We were not comfortable with the company anymore after that. They came one day a week, four hours a day. They provided just companionship. She made sure she got her medicine, and made sure she got lunch, and that was it. Pricing was very good.

We are using Senior Helpers a couple of days a week right now. We only have them in for three times but it has been fine. We have been using them for a week-and-a-half now. They are providing companionship for my mom, help with hygiene issues, they do some lighthousekeeping, and they help out with meals. They make sure she gets into the bathroom to bathe. We chose them because they're the first one to call us. So far, the caregiver has been really good. So far, it has been very good. Scheduling and billing, so far, has been fine.

Senior Helpers (Lamplighter Sq. location, St. Louis County, MO) has been a wonderful home care service to work with. I have my mother (wheelchair and bedside commode usuage) and my father (Dementia) living with my husband and I since April 2011. I contacted Senior Helpers upon my mother's release from the hospital last year, and their representative came to my home and worked out our schedule very quickly, and accomodated what we needed. Everyone has been great, during some very ill times. The ladies have been a great help to me, they fix meals, offer to do light housework if needed, and have worked with both parents during their illnesses when extra special care attention has been need for personal care, they are great for companionship (parents need a new face once in a while to talk to also), and our 2 house dogs were also welcomed and taken care of by the ladies when at the house. I would highly recommend Senior Helpers. Thanks to all who have helped along the way, but especially Sig, Lisa and Laura.
