"My 85 year old father left the hospital just before Christmas, depending on VNA for nursing care and physical therapy. After three days with no contact at all, I contacted VNA and was told that they had people on vacation during the holidays and were short handed. A nurse came to his home finally that evening late, and due to having faulty equipment, could not even check his oxygen levels. After 5 days, I contacted VNA again regarding the physical therapy, as he was sitting in his home getting weaker instead of improving. Again, the therapist in "our area" was on vacation for the holidays, but I insisted that some therapist needed to see him. Finally someone did come out the next day, however, did not show up on the next scheduled day. You can forget any visits on holidays - he had no contact on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Years Eve/New Years Day. I have other friends with elderly parents using other services who had visits every day even on weekends and holidays. This is not a pizza delivery service - these are peoples lives and VNA is responsible for. I don't recommend that anyone depend on this company."

"My mom has moved into Nazareth Home. They're very hands on, and everything that they promised that she would get, she is getting there. She's getting lots of good care. The food's good, she enjoys the meals that they serve. So far, so good. The staff is very attentive. The room is a little smaller than I expected, but it's roomy enough for her. It's OK. The location, as far as I'm concerned, is great. It's very close to the freeway, as far as getting to it and getting as close to where we live. It is nice for me anyway. She gets a lot of attention for her condition, but they also have a lot of additional activities for the residents: bingo, trivia, and things like that. The staff have been great. Mom is really pleased with the services that she's receiving from them. Right now, they're not allowing people to eat along with their parents, friends, or family that are in there. I haven't had a chance to do that. It looks good, smells good, and mom likes it. She does enjoy the bingo, and they do have a wide variety of activities."

"This was my first dealing with any type of hospice service. My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and the doctor suggested best option was to send her home under Hosparus care. From the very beginning until her death a few days later the Hosparus team was FANTASTIC. The care and attention paid to my mom was much appreciated and they made this difficult time a little better. Response from the (888) number was swift and each nurse we interacted with was knowledgeable, thorough, and above all patient with the family. I hope to never go through such a time again, but if I do, I hope Hosparus staff are involved."
