"Right At Home caretakers were such good companions and helpers for my mom on a part time basis so that my life could be made a little easier. The staff was willing to work with my schedule and very understanding about the different hours the caretakers were needed. My mom really didn't need constant attention but the ladies helped to oversee what she could do on her own and even helped her with some exercises. Having them here made me feel at ease know she was in good hands when I couldn't be there. "

"We used We Are Family Home Care for my mom in the past. Their representative came out and we listened to her presentation about the agency; we liked her personality. So that's why we hired them. They didn't have the right caregiver for my mother. We got the schedule that we requested and we had someone available for the schedule, but as far as the replacement for the caregiver that wasn't right for my mom, they didn't have anybody available. So we had to go with another agency. They provide homecare and light housekeeping, although the person that we got didn't do any light housekeeping."

"Home Helpers were local and they went through our local chamber of commerce so I felt comfortable with them. A head person came and met with me and my mom first. They talked over everything, and then the second time when she came, she brought a caregiver with her and spent about an hour with my mom and they started from there. The caregivers are fine. They drive her to and from the local stores or pharmacy. They help her do laundry, housework, make her bed, and take her to doctor’s appointments. The only problem I have is that they called us a few times where they didn’t have anybody to come out because somebody was sick and since she started, they’ve had 3 different people come which I’m not too crazy about. "I need help only on occasion when I need to be gone. I think they took very good care of my husband when I was gone. There were two caregivers and he was definitely more comfortable with one than the other but that's kind of natural.I didnt get a chance to meet them. I only met the person that set it up. They both were nurturing. One he likes better than the other. The only objection he had was that she evidently was a smoker. Although he felt for her because she was a single mother. Though she never smoked around the house, you could smell it on the clothes and everything and we are a total non-smoking family. That was the only complaint I heard from him. I used different organizations a year ago and decided to try this one and I think he was a little better at using them. I had insisted that they drive him because he has issues with his leg and spine right now until his surgery. I think I have mentioned to the agency that I would like to have a male and I would like to have only one person because then, you'd get comfortable with that one person. They still put two and they had reason. They said that if one would get sick, then we have a backup. It would be nice if they could've provided him with a male assistant but I did not press them on it. They interviewed me about our lifestyle and we are a farm family and that's the match we were looking for. I would be willing to use them another time but right now were in a better level. They were sensitive. They came and asked a lot of questions and they seem to be very caring. They seem very conscientious about it. "

They also do some toileting, like helping her in the restroom. They help with meals if needed. Like they give her food, snacks, and things like that. And they do plenty of exercises as well. They also work with her cognitive issues. They use memory cards, puzzles, and things like that."

"I have BrightStar Care West Lake County for 2 hours every day. They come in, they clean up my husband and then they leave. So they do their job, though he doesn't need a lot of care. We've already been using their services for more than a year. They also do other things, they might make him a light breakfast which is minimal, they'll go get him his shoes and things like that. The caregiver is different every day. I wish I could get a caregiver every day and I don't have to tell them where the silverware is, or the cups are and so on. Every day I have to tell a different person. So nobody gets to know each other or even know where to find the towel, soap, the basin, and everything to wash my husband. In terms of the billing, they take it right out of my visa card. I would recommend them if someone for the most part just needs minimal help. The caregivers are not able to change bandages, or put medicine on, or give someone medicine. Aides can't do that."
