The assessment went very well, and we had a nice in home caregiver chosen for us, but after the initial meeting we had very little contact with the agency. No follow up phone calls or visits, the agency basically checked out after we hired them. They didn't even know when our caregiver went on vacation. We covered the shifts ourselves. The caregiver also had no contact with the agency and said they did very little background check on her, or follow ups. Luckily she was great but ended up quitting the agency a few months after starting in our home. She quit because her pay was 50% of the fee. Paying the agency 50% was ridiculous. They did not oversee the care. We felt we did all the work that their office should have been doing. We had a second caregiver from Senior Helpers and she also quit for the same reasons. $10.00 hr just didnt keep the caregivers happy. Since then we hire privately and pay $15.00 hr.
