About Griswold Home Care Fairfield County: Generations of Care
Griswold Home Care is the most experienced non-medical home care franchise in the United States. Founded in 1982 by Jean Griswold, a caretaker who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis, Jean understood the importance of providing holistic support services that enable the dignity and joy of living in the place one loves to call home.
Continuing Griswold’s legacy, Cathy Howard introduced Griswold Home Care to Fairfield County in 1991 as an outgrowth of her need to find quality care for her own mom. A hospice volunteer for many years, Cathy’s business is not just a job, but her passion. Now, with her two daughters, Kelly Coy and Jessica Howard, on board to support her mission of care across the Stratford, Norwalk and Bethel franchise offices, Cathy is able to serve as Chairman of the Board of the Jean Griswold Foundation and a board member of the Stratford Visiting Nurses Association.
Only Griswold Care is "Delivered with HEART™"
At Griswold Homecare of Fairfield County, our holistic approach to care comes to life with a customized care plan that addresses the body, mind and spirit of your loved while easing family stress. And we monitor and adjust each care plan, to ensure positive outcomes for your loved ones and quality of life for you. We call this care “Delivered with HEART™”
Holistic Plan: Client centered care plans are designed to elevate the body, mind and spirit to ensure quality outcomes. From personal care assistance, light housekeeping, nutritious meal planning and cooking, medication reminders, engaging music, art or pet therapy activities, stretching, podcasts, cognitive stimulation or moments of meditation, our care plans are uniquely devised to foster quality outcomes.
Engagement: We ensure client and stakeholder engagement by monitoring and communicating outcomes and supervisor approved care plan adjustments as needed along the way.
Access to Wrap Around Services: We understand that care for the elderly often means caring for their families. With 30 years in the business locally, we have cultivated a bank of vetted, ACE providers who deliver the wrap around family services needed to ensure value outcomes. Services range from lawyers to set up powers of attorney, to nutritionists to set up and monitor meal plans, or even dog walkers, to name a few!
Reputation: In an industry plagued by 85% turnover rates, we are proud of our 85% retention rate and 96% client and caregiver referral rates. Check out our reviews and testimonials to learn why many of our staff have stayed with us for 10 years or more.
Training: A critical driver of patient outcome and a differentiator in caregiver and client retention is our proprietary employee screening and ongoing training process. We don’t just pull from the pool of talent cultivated over 30 years. The unique care plan drives our recruiting and training protocol to ensure an optimal match and proactive quality approach to care and communication. Key aspects of the care plan are included in our proprietary patient customized assessment (PCA) screener. Then, on average, each caregiver will receive 5 hours of onboarding training for each client and continuing educational training monthly to ensure optimal performance ongoing.
At Griswold Homecare of Fairfield County, we are committed to empowering the best quality outcome for you and your loved ones through care “Delivered with HEART™”.
