I was in rehab at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Morgantown. I was there for about a month. The care was spot on, and I had very good caregivers. My PT was the primary person assigned to me, and she really advocated for me when I had an issue with something. She really kept me going, attitude-wise, because it was a bad leg break. The food was also excellent. They have outdoor spaces, and the gym is the physical therapy room. We had three hours of therapy a day, and it was very difficult, so mostly, I was just resting when I wasn't in those three hours of therapy and eating. The day was just kind of taken up between therapy, which started at eight or nine, and around meals that could go till four or four thirty, so it was a pretty full day. I chose this facility for myself because my dad had also been there, and I liked the way they were with him. The therapy team kind of pulled him into the routine, and they did a good job with him.

If I had to rate the nurses and therapists, they are all wonderful! We didn't meet anyone we didn't like. My mom was treated like a princess. The food is great. It's clean. However, the main problem with Encompass is poor case management. My mom came out of Encompass on a Friday. Even though she was ready to come home, it was too soon. She doesn't have the support of medical professionals at home around the clock if something bad happens, and my dad is disabled and unable to care for her. We were receiving her medicine, supplies, trach supplies, and bed the same day as she came home. I can understand medicine the same day, but nothing went right. The bed ordered is not the bed she was supposed to receive and she can't roll in it. It's too small. They didn't bring what was needed for her to do her breathing treatments, and we couldn't get a hold of home health or the supply company for the part. The people who came with her trach supplies didn't even bring a suction machine. They had to come back with it and when they did, they didn't hook it up. Come to find out it didn't even work right and she ended up back in the hospital the next day because she almost choked to death. Oh, and she has pneumonia. It's not ideal to send your patient home on a Friday when home health can't come out that day and all the places where you'd get supplies are closed. It has been a nightmare.

I was on an in-patient program for a month and I did not get enough treatment. The therapist took care of two or three patients at a time. The out-patient program was better than the in-patient. I hoped to get well sooner.
