Brookdale Charleston Gardens is very nice and the help is pleasant. It's just a place that you would want your loved one to be. It's very clean, and the rooms are nice. They're individual rooms. It's like you're on vacation and staying at a hotel. I was impressed with it. They have an arts and crafts room, physical therapy, and a nice dining hall. The food seems fairly good. My brother seems very happy there.

My mom was at Brookdale Charleston Gardens for a month and a week. What I liked best was its location and cleanliness. I initially liked the helpfulness of the staff. What I liked least was the nursing care, the follow-up, keeping the family informed, and the fact that they did not allow my mom's primary care physician to come in and see her. They had an agreement with a nurse practitioner, who is not a medical doctor. And, apparently at some point in time, according to the records that we retrieved, she was seen by a medical doctor, so we were not made aware, and that was a concern for the family. My mom's living space was nice and spacious. They had a lobby and a very small dining room. However, they need to improve on communication, transparency, and full disclosure on just about everything. You get a contract, but the contract tells you most of what to expect. However, communication fell well short of being appropriate. The contract comes after you've already committed yourself to an exuberant amount of money to reside there. In their promotions, they need to promote that they just provide a space. You're moving into an apartment, and you have to furnish it yourself, so that came as a shock. It also came as a shock that as far as nursing care was concerned, you still had to provide things like adult diapers. They would provide Ensure, but at additional cost, so we just decided it was more cost-effective for us to purchase it in bulk and provide it for our mother. So these little things, when you're trying to figure things out, the disclosure isn't there. You don't know what you didn't know until you've made your commitment, and now it's time to do this, and everybody's scrambling. They didn't provide TVs. It was very weird and very strange to me.

Brookdale Charleston Gardens was good. The tour was good. The people there were good. Everything was fine. The staff during the tour was very professional and did a good job. The rooms were nice. The dining area and the menu looked good. I don't have any problems with any of that.

I toured Brookdale Charleston Gardens for my mom. The facility was very clean. The staff interacted with the residents with proper respect. They didn't belittle the residents. They talked to the residents as if they were family. The residents were clean. All the areas that I visited were extremely well-maintained and very clean. Most of the residents there needed very little assistance, but then they also had an area for memory care.

Brookdale Charleston Gardens was a very nice facility, and everything looked really, really good. It was clean. There were very nice people. It was a nice place. I just looked at one room. It was a studio, and it was nice and clean. It had a refrigerator. You have to bring your own things. The outside areas were all nice.

We looked at Brookdale Charleston Gardens. It was very clean and tidy, and cleanliness was a big concern of ours going in. The staff we met were very pleasant, easy to talk to, very open, and honest when giving responses to our questions about rate and things like that, so we appreciated that. They even gave me some suggestions on things to look out for, like VA information for my father, and I appreciate that. The amenities were good. These rooms are not really big, but I've found that that's the case with a lot of places. Thing is that it was very clean and neat. I like the fact that they had a little kitchenette, when a lot of the places were just rooms with a bathroom and that's it. They take them out to places like restaurants if they want to go, and they can sign up to go to the movies and things like that if they've been vaccinated against COVID. They have church activities, bingo, and movie nights, and they can sign up for all kinds of things, so I like that too.

My brother has been in Brookdale Charleston Gardens for three weeks now. So far the staff has been very nice. He hasn't talked about the food, so it must be OK. I've been up there several times, but I can't get in because of the virus. They've got a schedule, and it seemed nice. It was very, very clean. They showed me one room that was open, and I went around and looked at it. It was very nice inside, looking through the window.

Brookdale Charleston Gardens was the best of the ones we've visited. My grandmother has been pleased with the food. She's always gone to church and they set the computer up so that her church could be livestreamed. Even if she can't physically go to the church, she can still feel like she's part of that congregation. The rooms are not much bigger than college room dorms, and they're about the same as what everyone else is charging.

I would not recommend this facility because the level of care is not up to par. The staff are constantly sneaking outside to smoke, especially the director of nursing. The patients are not monitored properly and medications are not given as prescribed.zipper48zipper

I have a family member living at the facility and I can honestly say that the care and compassion shown to them is unsurpassed. They treat her like their own family member when we take her out she is always in a rush to return "home". Thank you for all your hard work and loving care.

This facility is terrible! The management treat the nurses terribly. On most occasions there will be 1 nurse upstairs and 1 downstairs. 2 for the whole facility. They can't hire any nurses because no one wants to deal with 40 some patients, where in a hospital a single nurse has 6-12. The RA's depend on the nurses instead of management. This is not a good place. I wouldn't send my dog there.

This place is horrible! Staff is mean to the residents, they do not get taken care of they way they should, the food is horrible, most residents won't even eat the food, and the fact they charge them to just deliever a tray to there room after they already pay a huge amount, there rooms are filthy and never get cleaned.

We found here for my grandmother. The staff is very helpful. I have eaten there, and the food is OK. Their rooms are not really spacious. The facility is on the smaller side, and I think it is an older facility, so it needs a little upkeep to be done. Also I think they need to improve on the privacy on the memory care side. I think it is terrible if they don't have locks on their doors.

We visited and we really liked it. We thought it was very nice. We thought the people were exceptional. The staff answered everything we asked. They called to see if our parents were interested after we have conveyed to them everything. While we were there, everything was very secure. We were told what was served and it seemed very nice. They had different entrees that they offered each guest.

We picked here because that's what my aunt wanted. The rooms are fine. They are clean, neat, and suitable. The bathrooms are very safety-oriented, too. They clean her apartment once a month. She has a living and dining room combined and a bedroom separated from the rest of the living facility. It is very nice. Their activities are very good there. My aunt has gone to a lot of their activities. They go to Wal-Mart every Monday. They go out to lunch somewhere every Friday. The staff is wonderful. They are just very good with her. They are just really good. It seems that all of them enjoy what they do. They are very attentive to the residents. Their dining facility is restaurant-style dining. Regarding food though, some days she likes what they have, and sometimes she doesn't.

I made a visit and I liked the place. But I was just not ready for it. I liked the rooms. They were nice. The place is great. The just wished they had better views. The physical location was on top of the mountain, which was a lot better. The place itself was a five, if it had a better view I will make it a five plus. The staff was very friendly. I would recommend them to others.

My aunt has been in here since March. I've been there only a couple of times, but every time the place has been clean, it smelled fine, and I saw people helping clients. My aunt seems to be well cared for. I would call any time to check on her and if she's available close by, they will even let her speak to me on the phone. We are very pleased. I guess what I liked best was their friendliness towards the family. They always welcome and accommodate us. Like today was my aunt's birthday and when some of her friends from the women's club came and brought cupcakes for all the patients in the ward, they allowed the use of a special room to have this little celebration.
