My father was on hospice when he moved into the VA Nursing Home. Just a few short months later, he was off hospice and going fishing, to movies, plays, dinners, even horse back riding. The facility is clean and bright and open. The staff never seems to be stressed from having too many patients. The feeling is homey and comfortable. The food is well seasoned and plentiful. Dad gets bacon every day! The attitude seems to be 'let them enjoy what time they have left'. And Dad is.
