The staff weren't bad people. Just neglectful and that resulted in my mother in law almost dying. She'd gone in for rehab after a hip surgery. That was the only issue. After 8 days, she had been bathed once, with the assistance and insistence by family. Within the first 2 days, she had developed a bed sore on her bottom. One nurse came, checked, and took care of it We assumed all was well. Till 6 days later and she still hadn't been showered, bandages hadn't been changed once, and the shower finally happened and I saw it and freaked out. I can go on and on. 2 days later she was put back in the hospital. The hospital nursing staff took stock of all the new issues she had and all I will say is the neglect was so awful that she was close to death. There were 2 nurses that cared and did their best. There was such a lack of communication that there was no way they could do their job. Often times the cna's took a long time to respond or just encouraged residents to use their brief rather than take them to the bathroom. Physical therapy was great. They were the best and only good part. Don't send your loved ones here or your sending them to die.

My mom is in Parkway Health and Rehab. Last night was her first night there and they didn't have any staff. She had to go to the bathroom, but she couldn't go because she couldn't walk, and they didn't take care of her for an entire hour, so I'm a little annoyed right now. I don't think their services are any good, so I'm going to actually transfer her out of there. The food is bad. From what my mom told me, the staff members are nice once they go in, but they're very slow to respond. If you need help, you can't wait there for an hour with no help. They need to improve on their attentiveness to the patients.
