I live out of state and visited Cross Timbers recently to see my aunt. The staff didn't know I was coming and so what I encountered was the norm, not a result of special preparation. I was so pleased! Everything was very clean (no smell!) and my aunt was dressed nicely, cleaned up and cared for. She has severe dementia, is nonverbal, and wheelchair bound. I was struck by the kindness of the staff - everyone knew my aunt and the details of her life. I was so pleased and would recommend Cross Timbers highly to anyone considering placing a family member there.

I received great care from everyone at this facility, they take the time to get to know their residents, whether it is a temporary or permanent residenty. I was not ready to go home (insurance) but Rose, my social worker, came, thru with offers that were very simple, yet made my transition so much easier. I wish the facility and it's employees, continued success.

Cross Timbers Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is not as isolated as some of the other places I've visited or else my mom would have just stayed in her room. They have a beautiful lobby with people going up and down the halls all of the time and lots of activities that make her feel like she's not alone. The nurses are also very sweet, saying "hello" as they walk by. It's very homey. Their dining area is very organzied, so that everybody knows where their table is. The residents are very cute and know what's going on. Dining is always like a social event. They seem to enjoy going in there to eat and see each other. I'm just really happy with them. Like right now, I can't go down there because I have a flu but I can relax knowing Mom is OK, and they're taking good care of her.

I would never recommend this place. It was the biggest mistake I made moving my mom to this facility after being in the hospital for two weeks. They knew the high risk of my mom was of falling. They neglected this risk and resulted in two falls in 48 hours. Both resulted in ER visits with a major head wound & the second with a huge bruise on her forehead. After taking extra precautions and hiring additional 24 hour care they still neglected in bathing her, and giving something for a high fever. They have also over medicated her so she can barely talk. Please consider another place for your loved one. I don't want you to go through what I've been through in the past few weeks!
