Brookdale Corsicana's housing was much more reasonable. We put a deposit down to have Mom moved there. The layout is very nice because it's built in a square, and the inner side of the building area is a courtyard so the people can go out there but can't get away. I was very impressed with the way it was built. I got my mom the Townsend which is a 1-bedroom with a sitting room and private bathroom. It's a little bit smaller than what my mom has now, but it's adequate. The staff member was very helpful and answered all my questions. They were able to speak to residents by name and I was just very impressed how they knew the residents. It was very nice. They have a small bus so they can take the residents on outings to dinner or shopping. They have an activities room where they play games and cards. They were doing the ladies' nails the day we were there, which they were all enjoying, and they also have a fireplace in the sitting room which made it very nice and cozy.
