Ellery Arbor Memory Care was a good place. What I liked the most about it was it's a total memory care and the residents had more freedom to walk or wander around. Then they have this big area inside where it's like a little indoor mall that is set up for them and where they could come out and meet with their friends from other places. It was very unique. The whole concept was nice. It wasn't as new, but you could truly see that the people working there really care, and they've all been trained extensively in memory care. In that little mall, there's a little movie theater, a sweet shop, and a beauty salon that is open two days a week, not just once every two weeks. Everything's free whenever they're out there too. So, I thought it was very nice. It was a little more expensive, but you could see how they made it all about memory care. My husband is not a big socializer, but there seemed to be a lot of opportunities for that. It's just an older place, not as fresh and vibrant as the newer ones. Maybe they could only do some decorating updates.

We visited US Memory Care, and we're told that they were just bought by Ellery Arbor or Sagora Homes. The staff was overly friendly, and the lady giving the tour did not address my mom or look at my mom at all. It was clean, they had a Bingo game going on, and they had a section where the residents were getting massages.

U.S. Memory Care of Colleyville was a very clean and very well kept. I liked the way it looked. It was very comforting when you were in there. It gave the feel of being in a community that was really nice. They had movies, and a little snack area for the residents. I could not recall any of the outside activities that might have been. They had very nice rooms that were very well, very clean, and had no unusual odor or anything like that. It had a very good feel to it, but it was a little out of the price range for what I was looking for, and it was more for someone that needed more care than my mother at this particular point. I also had a friend with a relative that was staying at US Memory and it was another reason why I wanted to look at it because they had very good experience with them.
