The facility is clean, safe and in a good location. The staff is friendly, approachable and helpful. The seniors there are treated with respect and given lots of attention and stimulation. We felt comfortable trusting these people with our family. There's plenty of planned activities and healthy meals/snacks served. It's a good alternative for people who want to care for their elders, but need to work during the day. It's also good for elders who need some level of care, but would not like to be in a nursing home apart from their families all the time. If you're looking for a full-time nursing home or you have an older family member who needs more intense forms of care, then this is not the place for you. This is for seniors who need some help but are still able to care for themselves to a certain degree. All in all, I recommend this facility.

I recently have been volunteering at the Austin Group for the Elderly. This organization is a non- profit day care center for the elderly. The staff is extremely caring and they go above and beyond to ensure the organization runs smoothly. AGE provides their guests with breakfast, snacks and lunch that they prepare themselves. The staff also organizes a full day of activities that vary from day to day. Activities include yoga, arts and crafts and computer lessons. All special activities are put on and led by volunteers. Austin Group for the Elderly relies on volunteers in order to stay in business. The AGE staff and volunteers is what makes the organization such a great place. They take time to get to know each person and they create a family there. During the holidays they have their own celebrations, which they really try to make special with the little resources they have.
