My mother is going to Park Central Community. We've gone up there to get an idea of her room and get some measurements. They gave us the tour and it was nice. They have so many activities to do. They have a five-star restaurant. They had a lot of outings, so they can get out and do things, just more than I think anyone can imagine. There are different buildings and she'll be in the independent one right now. Later on, she might need to move over to the assisted if she needs more nursing care. They have an Alzheimer's unit as well. The residents we saw were about to play bunco. There were several elderly people and you have to be 62 to move in. They also have apartments. I'm 60, and I may think about moving into those apartments and you can continue to work. There were people eating. They have a certain time for everybody to come and eat in the dining room. If it's past that time, they can order room service. They have a hamburger sandwich shop. They have a convenience store that has cooked food also. There was an exercise place. There were women and men in there exercising, and they had someone there to watch and make sure that they were exercising properly. They had a washing machine and dryer on their floor. They had different seating areas. They tell my mom that she can sit anywhere, that that was her home, not just the apartment above, but downstairs as well. They had a library. They had a place where she could get her hair done, her nails, and her feet. She could make appointments. There's just a whole bunch. It'll help mom be more active. She's on a walker, so we're hoping that helps the circulation of her legs a little bit. They have a separate dining room that sits about ten maybe. If we have family coming in, we can make reservations. A waiter or waitress comes to us and gets our order. I just talked to our custodian the other day and she says she goes maybe two or three times a week and eats over at the dining room because it's open to the public at certain times. The staff was awesome and very friendly. Even the residents that live there kept introducing themselves to my mom. I think the challenge will be for her to remember everybody. The facility was very clean. They were actually in there cleaning her apartment at the time, so they do a thorough cleaning. My mom was excited when she saw the place.

We toured Park Central Assisted Living Center Amarillo for my father-in-law. It was a very good tour, and very informative. They answered all of our questions. We liked the apartment that we saw, and I talked to some of the people there. There was a lady that has lived there for 15 years, and we were very impressed. He's going to keep his vehicle there, so there's covered parking. They have more than one place to eat, and they have laundry service, everything was to his liking.

My parents moved in several years ago and the food was 100% better than it is now. My dad passed away a year and a half ago so it’s just my mother and the service and food have gone downhill since they moved in

Park Place Towers was a very beautiful community. The apartment was nice. I was not impressed with their laundry facility that was available on the floor that I was on. The washing machines and dryers looked a little older. That's really the only drawback. From what I saw, the apartment was very nice and very cute. The staff was very helpful. The one giving us the tour was very knowledgeable. The way they do the meals is they have a base monthly rate, and whatever meals you eat, it's extra. If you only ate two meals a day, then you're only gonna pay for two meals a day. Each time you go eat, they just keep a tally, and then at the end of the month, they send your bill.

The staff of Park Central Amarillo is very nice. When my friend moved in, everything was clean with new carpet and fresh paint. Her living room is really huge, but the kitchen is not that big, and the utility room is just big enough for a washer and dryer. There’s a big walk-in closet, and the bathroom is nice. They have a restaurant in the facility called The Grill, and the food is excellent. Sometimes people come to play music, and they have a bus that takes you to Walmart. Beside the music, people will come in to talk and have arts and crafts, bingo, and more.

I like Park Central’s location, the people and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. I like the surroundings, the quietness there at the time that I came, and the apartments. I like the fact that they took you from independent living to skilled nursing and then on to the nursing home. Everything was there; you didn’t have to go to another place, you just go to another area on the same campus. The apartments were very clean, nice sizes, and the kitchen was rather large compared to some I have seen.
