"It is a lovely place. The staff is wonderful. They are the best staff in the world. It is clean here. The food is wonderful. They have the best chef in the world. My mother and father lived here for a while. I liked the place, and I liked its location."

"We absolutely loved Brookdale Medi Park West. It was awesome. We were treated so well. In fact, I toured it myself, then my brother and I toured, then again with my mother. So, we toured it three times to really thoroughly see what was going on. We were given tons of information and helped on how we could get aid or assistance and all kinds of stuff that would be helpful to us. The lady was more than helpful, and she said, “Hey, if there’s anything, let me know. I will do my best to have an apartment for you." However, at this point, we did not have the funds. All three times we went there, she took us into apartments that were all spectacular, wonderful, and cute. My mother wanted to stay. It was amazing. They had activities like card games, pool, sewing, and bingo. Every morning, they had donuts and coffee. In the afternoon, they had popcorn. Also, what impressed me was that every floor had its own ambassador who made sure that when somebody moved in that they felt welcome, showed them around, and made sure they had a friend. That was really impressive to me. They took them out to Walmart and out to eat. "

"When we first put my mom at The Craig, it was run by the Methodist church. Now, it’s a corporation, and we’re not as happy with it because they keep upping the price without bettering the care although she’s happy there. What my sister really liked about this place is that their nursing home is attached to the assisted living building. We thought that if my mom had to go to the rest home, it would be more like she had not moved; she just changed rooms because we don’t know how hard moving her is going to be because she’s happy. They upped the cost from $4,250 a month to $5,000. When the Methodists ran it, we were told that she could stay no matter what happens. Now, the corporation that bought it no longer honors that. It’s was better when it wasn’t run by a corporation, but as far as the care goes, she gets good care. We’re not afraid that she’s going to be harmed in any way. That’s the main thing -- knowing she’s safe. My mom has a one-bedroom apartment with a bedroom and a small living room with a kitchenette in it. She can adjust her own heater there. They provide lots of activities for her and keep her busy. The have exercises, bingo, cards, church, and have birthday and holiday parties. My mother is busy all day long. They give her medicines and check on her at least once through the night. Other than the cost, we wouldn’t be thinking about moving her. The only problem we’ve had is that ever since they changed hands, we’ve seen turnover in the staff, so we don’t really know any of the nurses who are still there. They seem to be friendly enough. I think it has a homey atmosphere because they have a TV room and an aquarium in their lobby. You don't see a lot of people in wheelchairs and walkers. It’s a pretty pleasant place to be. There are huge windows in both of her rooms. We didn’t see any other place that we thought was better than The Craig. I would recommend this place to other people. "

"The Continental is lovely. Everyone is really helpful and all the residents that I've met are very friendly and love the place. The food is excellent. The staff is excellent. They have bingo, card games, dominos, off-premise things that they go to, and a library. I was really impressed with the chef. The facilities are very good. I was impressed with the price too."

"My mom lived in Plemons Court for almost twelve years. My mom lived in the independent living part but they also have assisted living and all the other stages of care in the facility. It was affordable, she had a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with built in laundry facilities and a complete kitchen. It's very spacious and liveable. My mother has friends there and we go out to lunch together. "

"I toured The Harrington at Park Central. You have to pay extra for meals, but there are several different facilities right there. You have a walkway or whatever you can walk through and get to them in different weather. It would be convenient if I didn't want to cook to have meals handy. It has a tiny, almost non-existent kitchen, but other than that, the facility was nice. It's two-story, and has two sides with courtyards on each side. One side is for people who don't have pets. The other side is for the people with pets. So, you have a place to take your pet out. It's very nice, clean, and well attended. There's no receptionist at night, but they have nurse navigators on staff, and you have the necklace with the buttons in case of an emergency. Things like that are provided, and any utilities like cable or any of that you would pay for at home are included. So, it makes it very convenient to have one bill. The only thing I didn't like was the kitchen. It's just one little strip, an apartment-sized fridge, dishwasher, and tiny sink. But, other than that, the closet was nice and big, the bathroom was nice, and the floor. Tina was excellent."
