AHC Westwood has been a God send! We our very pleased with the level of care our mother has received. I can tell she loves the staff and they love her. I have been treated with the same care and respect. I highly recommend this facility to anyone considering Residencial Care. Susie Weant

My mother stayed here and I’m honestly ashamed of myself that she did. I’ve never met nurses who were so lazy and didn’t know what they were doing. On top of that, there attitudes are terrible

The staff are terrible. The nurses ignore any care needed and attempt to put it off on the next shift. I’ve yet to see my bedbound relative get turned. If I’m not present at meal times they do not get feed. If you report to the director of nursing, she will tell you to leave HER building if you don’t like how it’s ran.

The place is very clean. I had no problems with the building itself. That is one of the reasons we as a family choose this certain facility. On the flip side of that the staff was rude, and would not listen to the family. They were mean to the patients. Our father ended up with a broken hip, and because they would not listen and keep up the physical therapy he had to have hip replacement. We also told them that he could not take a certain medicine that he was allergic to. They gave it to him anyway to keep him knocked out so they would not have to deal with him. He liked to have died and we had to have him airlifted to the hospital. That is when we chose to have him moved to another facility.

Westwood is a small town facility. The staff is very friendly and do their best to accommodate their residents. They try to make sure those who smoke get to go out to do so periodically. They are always having someone, such as churches, come into sing and they try to have family events, such as around the holidays where family's don't feel like they are visiting a nursing home. They place itself could use more amenities and to is rather bare bones and halls look like a hospital ward, but they try not to treat people that way.

I enjoy every moment of the time that my family member was in there,The workers made it to get along with the building lay out and if I had any questions they were always there to answer them. The only thing about the resident was that the remolding of the building the residents was still in the area and it made major concerns for their health. But the only thing is that which I stated above !

The facility itself is relatively small compared to some that I toured. The grounds were kept very neat. I was impressed with the staff. Everyone from the nurses to the CNAs were very nice and this was not based on just one visit, but over several months of extended visits. While it might sound sneaky, at the shift change I would excuse myself to go to the restroom and wait to hear how the nurses and other staff spoke to Grandma's roommate and Grandma. It was always in a kind, professional manner, but yet with familiarity. I didn't want her to be around people who treated her like a number or cash cow. As I said I think of her as Grandma, but she is actually our neighbor. I knew she wasn't going to be able to afford the best place, and I couldn't afford to help her much money wise, and because of my second job, I couldn't keep an eye on her as I would have liked. I was surprised at the activities they have available for the residence, she really enjoys it when the little kids come and sing and the family dinners the facility has at the holidays. I found the facility to be very clean and the staff was really cooperative and willing to answer questions and address concerns. I don't like that the decor of the rooms looks like a hospital or that she can't have pet fish (beta). She loves her aquarium at home and misses it.
