My sister-in-law moved to The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Center of Excellence, Clinton. They meet our needs, and that's the thing we like best. The overall appearance is good. They have food and cook it locally, and it's very good. They have a lot of activities for their residents. They try to keep them busy. They have on-site PT, OT, and speech therapy. The staff seems to be very well-trained in dealing with memory care. They have a dining room and a living room. Sometimes, it's crowded, but most of the time, it has ample space. The residents seemed well cared for, and they have a beauty shop.
About The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Clinton in Clinton, Tennessee
When families in Clinton and Anderson County start searching for assisted living or memory care, they are usually not looking for a facility. They are looking for a place where a parent or spouse can get the right level of support, stay close to home, and still feel like themselves. Morning Pointe of Clinton is located in Clinton, near Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, the Museum of Appalachia, and the historic downtown Clinton square — convenient for families throughout Anderson County, Oak Ridge, Norris, Lake City, and surrounding East Tennessee communities. We are a single-story, home-like community with both assisted living and memory care under one roof — no elevators, no stairs, no long institutional hallways. Whether your loved one needs a little help with daily activities or more specialized memory support, the right level of care is always close by, and they can stay in a familiar place with a team that already knows them — for as long as our level of care is the right fit. Residents enjoy personalized care plans and 24-hour access to personalized care services. Licensed nurses are on campus around the clock providing oversight of health, wellness, and medication management. Pharmacist-led medication reviews, on-site therapy services, restaurant-style dining with specially prepared meals by our culinary team. We offer exercise classes, physical activities, live entertainment, and organized group outings. Your social calendar and exercise schedule can be as busy or as laid back as you’d like. For residents in our memory care wing, our team is trained in the Best Friends™ approach — a relationship-centered philosophy that treats every resident as a valued friend, honoring their life story and individuality — and the Teepa Snow Positive Approach to Care™ — skill-based dementia training that helps associates understand how the brain changes with dementia so they can respond with confidence, calm, and compassion. Our Meaningful Day™ program is built around each memory care resident’s past experiences, interests, and abilities — because the things that made your loved one who they are still matter here. Founded in 1997 and locally led for nearly 30 years, Morning Pointe Senior Living manages and operates more than 40 assisted living and memory care communities across the Southeast — including right here in Clinton.

My friend moved into The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Centers of Excellence. The staff is very caring. They have a very updated facility. They have nurse practitioners and staff. It's a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a regular nurse practitioner, and that was very important in choosing a memory care unit. They have activities. They have transportation and an outdoor area. My friend seems to be enjoying the food. The facility is very nice.

I was very impressed with the atmosphere, very warm and most friendly staff. The facility was very clean and the residents seem very happy. The rooms are very nice and very clean. The staff asked if we needed any help and went out of their way to help locate. The residents were busy making craft and really enjoying what they were doing. The Director was very pleasant and very evolved with her residents and staff. A very pleasant experience.

What a beautiful home like atmosphere for memory care! The building was very clean, friendly staff and management. I was visiting my great aunt and I was surprised to see this type of setting for memory care.

My father moved into The Lantern at Morning Pointe, Knoxville. It is an excellent facility, and they have done a very good job caring for my dad. He is in the memory care wing, and he has had no issues and no complaints. It is pretty much brand new. I have yet to eat because of Covid restrictions. Since they are being relaxed, I plan on having lunch there in the next several weeks when that's made available. My dad says the food is very good. The Covid restrictions have limited their access outside the facility. I have yet to be able to take my dad anywhere around the grounds, but he gets daily exercise. They have someone that watches over their walking. They have a facility in their wing where they can do some very light exercise. I was really impressed with everything I saw there.

I've been to the Lantern three times, it's total memory care, but they have the same services as assisted living. I was impressed with the staff I saw. The dining area was nice, the menu looked good, and they serve three meals with snacks. I highly recommend it.

Morning Pointe of Clinton is the closest place to where I live. So far, everything is fine. It is a very small, nice, clean place. It's small and quaint, and smells good, too. The rooms are nice and fairly spacious but not too big.

We toured Morning Pointe, and they were very friendly. It was clean. All the people seemed to be smiling -- the workers and the people that lived there. The apartments were very good. The one that we looked at as if we were going to take it, they would redo the carpet and the flooring in the bathroom before my mom moved in. They had activities like bingo and movies. Then, they had music people coming in, and they had trips.

Mom is in Morning Pointe at Clinton. It is very professional and has a warm environment. It is obvious that they know what they are doing. After meeting the staff, they all seem very warm, friendly, and caring. From what I have seen so far, they have been available to my mom when she needs them, which is very important. It seems very clean and well-kept, and this Christmas holiday, it is very festive and inviting. It is very cozy. It is a very nice facility. She was just there last November so I think she is just feeling out which one she is going be more attracted to. Right now, I know she enjoys bingo. I think that she doesn't really appreciate the food because she was born during the depression era where mostly everything was canned, so her appreciation for fresh food is not always good. It seems very homey. It looks comfortable. Our impression of the dining area is that it is a very nice area for them to come together and converse, eat, and enjoy each other's company. Everything that I see when I am there seems to be above board, and I am very impressed.

I placed my mom at Morning Pointe. She is very familiar with the community. In fact, it is very close to her home, and I have two aunts who have lived there over the years. My mother's best friend is also there, and she visits there a lot. My brother also lives in the area, so it is very convenient. The employees working there are very warm and caring. They are really there to serve the people. I feel like I am leaving my mother in very good care. My mother loves the staff, and she is happy there. I am very impressed with them, including the people serving the food. The dining room is very nice. It has lots of tables, and people sit in their assigned seats. They also have a room that is off the main dining area that has long tables in it, and once a month, they have family nights there. The meals at family nights are absolutely delicious. Their rooms are a little small, but they are sufficient. Her room is very clean, and after we placed my mom's furniture and personal items in, put pictures on the wall and hung the curtains, it looked beautiful. They have activities, and my mom plays bingo there. They have people come in and play the piano and other local people to entertain the residents. Last summer, I did a poetry show there that I used to do when I was a young actress. However, I think they can a do little more variety in activities and in the way the meals are served.

I could not ask for any better service for my father. My brother and I are very pleased. Food is wonderful! The staff treats him with respect. They all care from the heart. That is something money cannot buy. We feel very blessed to have Morning Pointe.
