A great group of caring staff. Hospital type food. The Physical Therapy department did a great job with me. I am much more able to do things I need in everyday life now. My thanks and five stars out of five for their help.

My mom was not able to do anything for herself and was very sick when she came here about a year ago, this place was horrible. Some of the CNAs and nurses are great but overworked and other (especially night staff) are rude and uncaring. We stayed with my mother during the day until 10pm at night, and all day had to request her to be changed due to laying on wet sheets and request her medication. And do a lot of her care ourselves. Many times cleaning and changing her because no one would come when called. Without her family being there almost 24/7 she would have gotten bed sores and much worse. My father is now in this facility because we were told it was the only one local that had rehab. Again we are making sure someone is with him most of the time due to past experience. We have already complained regarding his level of care 2 times in 48 hours. He was left in his own feces for over 2 hours two times. We know this due to him telling us and his roommate. He called and his roommate called for help to get changed many times and no one came for over 2 hours. He is not allowed to be mobile so he is at their mercy unless we are there to monitor them. He now has skin issues due to laying in a dirty depends for hours. And at times they ignore our requests as well, especially the night shift. We are bringing him food because if he is asleep when the food comes, they remove the trays and then he doesn't get food until the next meal. Let me reinforce that the call buttons were pushed by him and his roommate and he was still left in that condition for hours. Unless you can be with your friend or family 24/7 I would not use this facility.

Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center is extremely understaffed. When you walk in, there is such a horrible odor! Although the custodians did a very good job of cleaning my husband's room, there was no custodian to clean spills, toilets, etc. after the custodians shift was over. Many times I walked into the restroom, in my husband's room, to see feces on the toilet, (after the custodian left for the day). He had to share a toilet with 3 other people, one of which urinated on the floor beside the beds in the wee hours of the morning when no custodian was there to clean it up. My husband was mainly there for rehabilitation but was placed in a room with an elderly person who apparently had dementia. There is no rhyme or reason as to the placement of residents together in a room. Private rooms were not mentioned to us and I'm not sure if there is a difference in placement for private pay versus insurance pay or not. The food was very inadequate. The staff is overworked for the most part. One worker had to work for 16 hours straight which can lead to the worker becoming extremely tired, making mistakes such as inaccurate administering of medication. At least my husband was able to come home. I would never advise anyone to use this facility.

After a long hospitalization, my husband was brought here for short term skilled nursing and rehab. Due to insurance, he was only there for 2 1/2 weeks. I was very pleased with the level of care he received. Starting with the nursing care, wound nurse care, CNA’s, OT, PT, Doctor, Social WorkerBusiness Office and even the receptionist and activities director. If my husband needed assistance again, I would have him return to this facility. His room was nice. Thank you to all the staff who assisted us during his stay.

The therapy cohort at Norris is stellar! Adel and his team were impressive in the two weeks that I was staying at the facility, receiving my rehabilitation care. Dr. G was very attentive, and intricately followed up with all of my concerns. I am very glad that I came here, and this will always be my first choice of facility for personalized care.

Norris is a great establishment and your loved ones will be in good hands at this facility. Not only is the therapy department extremely helpful and professional, but the administration always meets the needs of the patients as well as their families. The rooms are semi-private with private or shared restroom. The activities department is phenomenal and always has events going on for the residents. They also have a nice gazebo to enjoy whole bird watching or enjoying a nice lunch with family.

I spent 6 mos. there. It was a battle just to get my room cleaned on a daily basis. It was poorly run. They never bought enough supplies (like incontinence briefs) for those who needed to wear them. They lost great CNAs and nurses, at an alarming rate. I would not suggest any one leaving a loved one in the care of these people. STAY AWAY FROM NORRIS HEALTH AND REHAB.

I thought that this facility was the top one in the area. I got to know this facility because my dying grandfather stayed there. The one he was at before this one cause a killing disease. This facility helped him out all as possible; it was great what they did for him. They hired people to come in and take care of him since he was about to die. They do not usually take care of patients that are about to die. They made a change and did this for us. They also had other great things that they provide to the elderly, like a dining room. They let all of the folks eat around each other. It is their choice if they want to eat in their room or they can eat in the dining room. Other things they provide would be bingo, socials, church time. All of the things they do for their patients are stupendous.
