"Mom moved to Myrtle Beach Grove Senior Living and it's been a great experience. There's no problem. They've been very personable, very helpful, and everything's been good. It's a very clean facility. They have bingo, Jeopardy, Family Feud, and they play something every hour and a half. They have a different activity for them to participate in if they want to. That's just a nice place where the people make you feel like you're at home. They are very friendly."

"I went to Spring Oak Conway. It was a little bit too far out for what I needed. The staff was very pleasant. They were very knowledgeable, very patient, and very caring. They were cleaning the facility while I was there. The rooms are adequate. The dining area was a nice size and it looked fairly clean."

"The Tabor Commons is reasonably close and they take Medicaid. Those are the two big reasons that we chose it for my relative. She's going to move in around May. It was clean and the staff seemed very friendly when I was there. They had a giant activities board. They take the residents out to the store and on various trips. They had an activities room, TV room, shower area, and a nice decent-sized outside area. It's assisted living but they can provide monitoring, they have wander-guards for people that have mild dementia. "

"We went here. I liked them, I thought they were very nice, I thought the place was set up nice, and the people were very nice. The room that we looked at was very nice, and it had a patio with a little outdoor area, which would have been very nice. A little bit of distance while walking from there to the dining room would be too far for my friend. The dining room was very comfortable looking, it was nice."

"Inlet Coastal Resort was a very pretty place. The staff was really nice, and they helped us in making some copies of things. They took some information to start getting the application going. The young lady that waited on us was very attentive. The facility was outstanding, very nicely decorated, really bright, very nice, and very up to date. They have the visiting nurses that come in, physical therapy if you need it, and the doctor on call if you need it, so that's good."

"I considered moving my husband to River Park Senior Living, but they did not have a skilled level that they can move him up to. You have to move out of the facility to a skilled nursing home. They had waterfalls and a little garden for the residents to walk out and stay in and they won't get lost. They still contact me about placing him there. The staff spent a lot of time with me and my husband. They had a chef that's so wonderful. He was always making special things for people, and they bragged about how good the food was there. It was a gorgeous facility. When you walk in, you never knew you're in a nursing home, you never smell an odor, and you never saw someone left unattended. I know a neighbor that has her mother there, and she's been very satisfied."

"My father is a resident of The Legacy of North Myrtle Beach. He likes it there. It's an older facility, so some things could be updated. It's small, so the memory care unit part is also small. They also seem to have a little bit of a turnover. I wish some of the staff would stay a little bit longer, but they come and go. It has been a couple of years so I guess that's not out of the norm. He has good days and bad days, so he gives them a hard time some days, but he always gets good treatment, and they seem to be able to calm him down. He thinks he owns the place -- dementia will do that to you -- and they just go along with it. Some days he "fires" the whole staff, and some days he tells me to write a check for more money for them. They are very good with him so the only thing that I would like to see is more staff staying. My father doesn't really like a lot of changes, so with people coming and going he wonders where they went. He is in a private room, and it's not very big, but he has an armoire that he uses as a closet for his clothes. He has his own bathroom, too. Right now he has a hospital bed, but he also has a recliner, a rocking chair, and a dresser or a nightstand. It's enough room for him. He also has a window that faces the highway where he enjoys sitting and watching the cars go up and down. They took a little bus trip this past week, I think they went to the Olive Garden for lunch. He gets to go on little luncheons too. Yesterday they had a salad and spaghetti dinner and they tried to get the people involved in it. It's hard to do that in memory care, especially with my dad who is also legally blind. It's hard to come up with this kind of activity for him, but they try to keep him involved. They even help him play bingo and do different activities with the other residents, so he really seems to enjoy it there."

"We were pretty impressed with our tour at Myrtle Beach Manor. I liked that aside from assisted living and memory care, they also offer skilled nursing there and physical therapy. They've got an exercise room, they also had activities as well. One of the things I asked was what would a day be like for my husband there. And I was impressed that they had a good plan and information with regards to the day-to-day, and what the residents would do and when they do it. The staff that we met with talked to us and worked with us."

"I enjoy having indoor pool classes and look forward to warmer weather and sitting around the outdoor pool. The Brightwater member directory is very helpful to put names with faces. We have a small group to play Mah Jong and hope to get more members to join the fun. The bus will take us to the grocery store and the drivers help us with loading & unloading. There are many dining options to choose from and I still enjoy cooking myself in my villa’s full kitchen. I am looking forward to more social interaction after COVID is over."

"I talked with people from other assisted living facilities and no one was able or willing to do what Magnolias did. Magnolias accepted my father as a resident at a reduced monthly rate and they're helping him to obtain his VA benefits. When my father's VA benefits begin Magnolias will be reimbursed retroactive. Magnolias of Myrtle Beach is a nice facility with decent caring people. I've been there many times to visit and I talk with the residents and they like being there.Visit and see for yourself. "

"The Watercrest Myrtle Beach is probably the best bang for the buck. It's brand new. It's got lots of amenities. It has the most amenities. It has a salon, a salt room therapy, a mood room therapy, and a small pool. They have physical therapy, and they have a cigar lounge. They have a dining room that is open from 7:00 to 7:00, and it's more like a restaurant. You can order any meal at any time. They got more selections, and they have specials. I did eat there, and the food was good. The service was slow, but you're in assisted living, so you're not trying to rush through anything. We had a nice tour of the building. They have all three levels of care. That's the Cadillac of the four places that I've looked at. It's brand new. It's got the most amenities. It's exquisite over there, it really is. We actually ate the food over there. Me, my mother and my wife have toured everything over there. They have all kinds of outdoors. They have like a gazebo out back. All the pricing is competitive, so you're getting the most bang for your buck over there. However, if the amenities are there and you don't use it, then it's no good anyway."

"I thought Brunswick Health & Rehab Center was excellent. The staff was extremely pleasant and easy to deal with. I met most of them that were available while I was there. It would be something I would feel very safe in leaving my mother in their care. I tried their food. They made me a plate. It was the same thing everybody else was eating, and the food was not bad. The dining area was like a communal dining room. Everyone there seemed to be in good spirits, so I was pleasantly surprised. The facility is definitely in a rural area. It's away from everything. If someone likes that, it would be perfect for them. They have a lot of open space. The residents seem to be extremely happy. It was clean. It didn't have any weird smells to it. I was very overwhelmed with what they offered. They keep the building up pretty well."

"My dad is very happy at Covenant Towers. The people treat the residents like family. They have a lot of activities. Tomorrow they have a van trip to a college to hear a band play. They do many things for the seniors, and they have Bible study. He has a very nice apartment and he loves it. They also have assisted living, and upstairs they have a nursing home. "

"Active Day Grand Strand has a calendar of activities and things that they do. There weren't much to the grounds because it was basically a parking lot. The inside of the facility seemed fine. The location was good and very convenient to get to. It also seemed like it's in a nice area. I think the pricing was reasonable and not super expensive."
