Avonlea Cottage of Shawnee

I toured Avonlea Cottage of Shawnee. It was very nice. It's small. They have 15 or 16 residents. But I'm waiting to hear back from them with the prices. The girl wasn't there yesterday when I went over, so I left my number and she said she'd call me sometime today to give me an idea what the cost is. The staff was very nice and very friendly. They went out of their way to take me around and look over everything. They're very good. The facility was clean and very well cared for. They have a lovely park-like setting outside because there's a green strip right behind them, and it was nice there. You could go out and sit. I was telling the girl when she was showing their back patio that it's kind of like I do here as I go out on the front porch. They've got birdhouses and flowers. It's set up for somebody like me. They had everything they needed for gardening if you want to garden. The staff was very nice explaining things as we went on. The facilities were very clean and everything was in its place.

Our Mother has been a resident for 5 years. She has received beyond excellent care from the staff with medication management, food and attentive care. Her caregivers are friendly and helpful. Her room is organized and works well for her. We appreciate this group so much!! It was a hard decision to find care for her but we have never been dissatisfied. Thanks. Vickie and staff

We found Avonlea Cottage of Shawnee for my aunt. It's clean and friendly. There are no activities right now, but she said the food is good. The staff was very helpful. They directed us on which way we needed to go. She said that they're all smiles and happy every time they come into her room. She has not complained about the food.
