Birchaven Village was absolutely spectacular and would have been the choice that we'd have made. The apartments were a beautiful size, we liked the layout of the entire place, the amenities, and the activities that they offer. From the atmosphere, to the decor, and the location, everything was perfect. We looked at a two-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. They supply the resident with a medical alert, and the rooms have very large living rooms with either balconies or walk-out patios. They have two-bedrooms with huge closet space. Each one comes with a washer and dryer, handicapped-accessible showers, and both bedrooms are beautiful. It's a three story residence with a full dining room downstairs, a fireplace, and a walk-out patio. The chef prepares and chooses the menus, and they have beautiful amenities in the dining room. It looks more like you're going to a fine restaurant every night rather than just an ordinary dining room. Groups come in to entertain the residents like high school groups, they have game nights, and movie nights. The place even comes with it's own "main street" that has a bank, library, a church, and a small gift shop. It's set up like you're walking dowtown someplace. It was just an absolutely beautiful community. The food was absolutely top-notch and beautiful. We had lunch there and the food was fresh, appetizing, not bland by any means, and was just very good. The chef obviously knows what he's doing.

In late January 2017 I spent several days at the nursing facility, rehabilitation section. The medical care was good but the place was so noisy that I moved out in a few days and paid for home health care.

this nursing home looks good on the outside but the service in the facility is lacking. my mom fell 3 times and finally broke her nose and we moved out

I thought Birchaven was overpriced, and I didn't like it. The rooms were clean and everything, but they didn't seem very homey. The staff members were friendly and they seemed nice.
