Nursing Home Communities in New Richmond, WI

"My dad has the type of dementia that only kicks in if he's really ill or injured. When it happens he goes into a nursing home and would be there for a month or two. With his recent one, he went to Golden Living Center. The hospital helped us choose this facility. Their staff are incredible. They got very little turnover. They also have a really good physical therapy department. Aesthetically this facility doesn't look too good, but they have very good care and staff. If they have funding to pick the place looking better, that would be nice. "

"Baldwin Care Center has church services, support, Bingo, and choir groups who come in and sing. The only thing they lack are volunteers, which is something I'd like to see. My dad is in a private room. Birch Haven, the assisted living portion was phenomenal and fabulous. They took care of my dad and they brought him to Bingo. It was only $150 a day, which included everything. My dad was there for three weeks. They have a caring staff, and they give family hugs and support. They joke with the residents and go down to their level. They cared about Dad. They also gave us educational material to read about Dad's dementia and they even reached out to us. They are wonderful. You get the same staff members that care for you three nights out of seven, and that's phenomenal. They take pride in that."

"Your first impression of Boutwell's is impressive. They have a unique shaped building that has many fun little shops and activity areas, all set on a well landscaped and wooded lot. Aside from the many small party rooms, common areas, chapels, and other fun amenities, there is a great adult service team as well. They always have such a positive attitude and a professional demeanor and help the seniors on site live a normal as possible life. Although the facility is on the high end of pricing, I would highly recommend. "

"Kinnic Long Term Care provides more care than what my uncle needed at this point. It's a nursing home, but it seemed very neat. There's not much privacy because you have to share a room, and it's not an apartment. It's just a TV and beds and everything else is shared. The person during the tour was quite friendly."

"The Lutheran Home was good. I liked their staff and their facility. She seemed to be comfortable there. She had a beautiful, single room which was very cheery and homey. She knew people that were there. "

"My future mother-in-law is at Divine Rehabilitation & Nursing at St. Croix. The place is clean. They're a little understaffed, but other than that, they are good people, very polite, and very good to their patients that are there. The kitchen area and the dining area where they go eat are very clean and very nice. The chapel is very nice. We sat there and there was a priest or a pastor that came in and did prayers. Everything is fine, roomy, and up to par. It's only one floor and then they have other buildings around. They're understaffed, but they have traveling nurses coming in to help out. The food looked good."

"My mom is very happy at The Care Center at Cerenity White Bear Lake. It's been good. Her room is quite nice and it's a fairly good size. She has her own bathroom, so it's good, and the staff is wonderful. The upkeep has been good too. They have some gardens and they're across a street from a park. Medicare is paying for that so we're not paying anything since she's in transitional care."

"My mom has Alzheimer's and she's in Serenity Care. I checked them out a few years ago when I was looking at some of the nursing homes and that's the one we liked best because it was neither too big nor too small. The staff were also nice and friendly. "

"My 95 year old mom is there . it is great. She had been in another nursing home far away from me . She is doing better at Parmley. Parmley takes patients on Medicare. & patients that are very elderly with multiple severe medical problems. consumers should be aware of these issues and advocate for loved ones."

"My mother is in Spring Valley Senior Living and Health Care Campus. What I like best is the staff that is coming there from the previous nursing home my mother was at. That will make a lot of difference in her care. It's a very clean and nice facility, and I like that they have outdoor gardens, but they're contained within wings so that people with dementia can safely be in an outdoor area with flowers and trees and things without actually leaving the facility or wandering off. They have four wings, two wings are assisted living, and two wings are nursing homes."

"The care that my mom is getting in Birchwood transitional care is fantastic. The nurses and nurses' aide have all been wonderful. The occupational and physical therapists have been excellent in dealing with my mother. Anytime I call them, they would return my call or they would let me talk to the nurse right away to ask questions about how my mom is doing. The best thing I like about it are the caring people. It's like a big family. They have an activities person just checking in on people and when there are activities, they invite people. It's just a place that I wouldn't mind staying myself someday. Aesthetically, it's not the nicest place but you are able to look beyond that because of the excellent care. "

We found it to be be, safe, open, fully staffed, and a happy place. The nursing staff, the nursing aides, the physical therapy staff , the OT staff and all the supporting staff to competent to be happy and helpful and professional. When a social worker at a hospital askes where you should go for for a TCU- there is no better place than Maplewood Care Center. You will not regret it. The staff is kind helpful and caring . we have been there. "
