"Mt. Pleasant Assisted Living is a pretty neat place. It's located in a small town and the residents there still feel that small town connection. It's apartment style living, where residents receive visits from home health care providers, ride a bus to their appointments and Wal-mart and eat dinner community style. My parents are enjoying the freedom of not cooking, getting their laundry done and their house cleaning too The. staff is warm and friendly. "

"I have always been a little skeptical about nursing homes. But after my grandmother had fall and was showing signs of dementia and was placed in Magnolia Nursing home, I have changed my mind to a certain degree now. They are really good to my grandmother. They do quite a bit for the residents there,from having different gospel singers come in and sing weekly to playing bingo to even having movie night 3 times a week and they even serve popcorn and drinks. They staff are so friendly and truly seem to care about the residents, They are always stopping in and saying a few words to my grandmother and checking to see if she needs anything.They know that I bring my grandmother an ice cream sandwich every time I come to visit, So if she happens to be asleep when I show up they allow me to leave it for them to give to her when she wakes up. They are really good about making sure no residents feel left out of any of the activities they will go and get them to join in on the fun. All in all Magnolia Manor is a really nice place. "

"My mother-in-law is in Pleasant Springs Healthcare Center. She has therapy and various other things to go along with it. It's very nice and clean. Her room is very clean, very pleasant, and very large to meet her needs. The staff has been pleasant so far. They take good care of her. She doesn't have any complaints. They have cards. They have all kinds of games. They have off-campus activities where they go out to eat or go to the casino up in Oklahoma. They had a group come to the home the other day and had music, and she enjoyed that very much."

"My sister was in Villas of Mount Pleasant. She was only there for a week. It was nice and expensive-looking. It was very well furnished. It was bigger and newer than the other facility; however, they didn't have the staff to take care of the patients. Though the office personnel and the administrator were attentive, but the people that did the patient care was very uncaring. They should have more caring personnel. With regards to meals, food wasn't brought to the room warm. I would not recommend this facility. "

"My mother is in Gilmer Nursing & Rehabilitation for about a month now. It's very clean and smells fresh when you go in. That was a big selling point. The nurses are very kind and patient with her and they're willing to speak to me on the phone if I can't get by there, and she's getting really good care. She's in a private room. She's private pay for the first month until we can get assistance. It's very nice that it's cleaned once a day. They check her bed four or five times a day. It's nice and roomy, there's plenty of storage for her things, even if she does go into a room with a roommate, the rooms are a nice size, so they're not crowded together. It's convenient. My son lives less than a block away. It's not that far from me. It's easy in, easy out. Most of the time she says the food is good. Sometimes, of course, anything's off, especially in her situation. From what I've seen, the food looks really good and appetizing, and I think it's seasoned well. They have activities, they make a little snack before lunch and they do that three days a week. They offer bingo and the beauty salon is closed due to the COVID, but they offer a lot for her to do if she wants to."
