"I went to NHC. The staff was very caring, quick to answer calls, and very thorough. The rehabilitation was excellent. The area was very clean and smooth since they’ve done a lot of renovations. They have all kinds of social activities, a room that they can go into to play games, and exercise classes. "

"Upon first walking in there were several residents on the patio area, with no staff supervision. The hallways are reasonably clean but the wings are pretty noisy due to some of the residents outbursts. The patient rooms are also clean. There seems to be not quite enough staff. Another visitor that was there at the time we were commented on how long it had taken the CNA to come to the room when the call button was pressed. My friend's grandmother shares a room with another patient. The roomate is in far worse condition than friend's grandmother. This makes the grandmother lonely at times as the lady in the room with her just sleeps, mostly, while grandmother is still pretty spry and lucid for her advanced age. I think they could do better in matching up roomates. All in all, I don't think it's a horrible facility, but since it is paid for by Medicare it has very sparse amenities and appears to be understaffed. The patients do appear to be well cared for. There is no odor and the food looked surprisingly edible. "

"At the time that we went to Arbor Place of Puryear, we weren't able to look right inside because they had active cases of Covid. They didn't let us in as far as walking around and all we were able to do was just go right inside in the lobby area. We didn't get to see any rooms or anything. It was not very big. It's an older place, and it's way out of our price range for what it is. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. She was able to answer questions that we asked. The reason we were looking at this facility was that, at that time, my mom's brother lived right down the street. Also, it's only 10 minutes away from my husband and I, so it would have been very convenient. My mom would have been in the waiting list, but the staff said it could take anywhere from six months or longer. It is a nursing home, so you have to share a room. The building was very clean and well kept. They had a nice patio area. Because of where the land it's on, there's not a lot of shade around, so that was disappointing. There were no outside structures to get in and out of the sun, but overall, the outside was very nice."

"Diversicare of Martin is a newer community, so they have newer staff and newer things. They did some remodelling so they have newer carpets, and they painted so it was nice and clean. The staff was very respectful to the patients, very caring, and very professional. And the dining area was neat, clean and well-maintained. Their rooms were also neat, clean, and well-maintained, and they do a weekly check of the rooms twice. They would go to the rooms and look for belongings from other patients, since sometimes other patients would bring things to their rooms. They're also very friendly to the patients and very sweet, and I saw that the residents were very responsive to them. There was an activities director. They had weekly church meetings, people would come in to sing for them, and things like that."

"My mother-in-law is staying at Van Ayer Manor Nursing Center. She did rehab there. They're excellent. The staff is wonderful, kind, and very patient. They walk with her to make sure she doesn't fall. They're getting her stronger in that area. Her food is bland, but it's good for her. Her room is shared, but it's good sized and very clean. They do Bingo and card games, and they have transportation. It's a quiet, clean, and very friendly atmosphere. It's good value for money."

"Dyer Nursing Home had a very pleasant environment and a very kind staff. However, they also appeared to be understaffed, so each staff member was very busy and this sometimes caused a long wait time for them to answer calls. Despite this, the staff knew the residents very well, and formed personal connections with them. They also had many events scheduled every week, so that the residents could have things to look forward to and enjoy. The interior could have been more cheerfully decorated instead of plain white walls; however, the exterior was very nice looking with flowers by the door. Each room had a window looking outside, and there were bird feeders by the windows looking into the yard. (I thought that was an especially nice touch.) While it had its shortcomings, I thought that Dyer Nursing Home was a good place for my grandmother. "

"At dyer nursing home, i believe the staff to be very helpful and willing to do whatever they need to do to make you feel comfortable with your loved one living there. There are two buildings to this facility, one is assisted living and the other is institutionalized nursing home. There are few amenities provided to either, maybe because it is located in a small town, however, the facilities are always clean and staff is always nice. My fa mily member there has advanced alzheimers and i would like to see more available research or programs for those people. Most of the time, all they have to do is watch television! they need more programs and perhaps to add some amenities to be supervised such as an indoor or outdoor swimming pool. "

"I'm now in AHC Humboldt. I'm a resident for a week now. It's very friendly and very clean. They're kind workers. It's kind of homey. I'm pleased with the staff. I think they're the cream of the crop. I have a private room now. They have activities every day. They have bingo, music, and birthday parties at the end of the month. We also have church."

"I was at Humboldt Manor Nursing Center and I thought that the care I received was very good. I didn't like that I couldn't have friends and family see me because of COVID-19. However, it was OK in terms of everything. It wasn't perfect, but it was all right. The nurses were nice, they were good, and I had a fairly good experience with the nurses. The place itself was clean, and they did a good job cleaning. I would say that I was satisfied. I would suggest that maybe they could spend more time with each patient, like when they're bathing them, and maybe not hurry so much through stuff like that, but I know they have a lot to do. I got bathed, but they didn't really have time to do extra things like having lotion put on your hands and getting your nails cleaned up."
