Nursing Home Communities in Paris, TN

"My mother was not treated very well here, just because she had dementia she was left alone in her room without water until family came, then they got fresh water. Moved several times when she got used to the staff which made her more agitated. "

"My sister is in the long-term care section of Paris Health Care Nursing & Rehabilitation. We chose this place for her because this is the only facility in our area that accepts private pay and assists you, once the money is paid, with Medicaid, so she would not have to change facility again. She has a private room, but she shares the bathroom with another room. There are two rooms attached to each bathroom, which is fine. The place itself is very nice and clean. It’s good that they always have a staff to assist her with her needs like getting out of bed or getting in the bathroom. I would say that their food is normal to good for a facility like that. They have a lot of activities too, but my sister's health prevents her from joining them. However, they are very interested in keeping the residents active and interacting with each other. "

"At the time that we went to Arbor Place of Puryear, we weren't able to look right inside because they had active cases of Covid. They didn't let us in as far as walking around and all we were able to do was just go right inside in the lobby area. We didn't get to see any rooms or anything. It was not very big. It's an older place, and it's way out of our price range for what it is. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. She was able to answer questions that we asked. The reason we were looking at this facility was that, at that time, my mom's brother lived right down the street. Also, it's only 10 minutes away from my husband and I, so it would have been very convenient. My mom would have been in the waiting list, but the staff said it could take anywhere from six months or longer. It is a nursing home, so you have to share a room. The building was very clean and well kept. They had a nice patio area. Because of where the land it's on, there's not a lot of shade around, so that was disappointing. There were no outside structures to get in and out of the sun, but overall, the outside was very nice."

"My mother is currently a resident of this facility and the love and care shown to her from the Administrator down is absolutely awesome. This is not just a nursing home its a family."

"This facility has very nice staff, the nurses are friendly and treat the residents with respect. The facility was clean. The residents appeared to be well taken care of and the nurse call lights were answered in a timely manner. There are activities for the residents to participate in and the meals that are served looked well prepared. My friend's mother was there for only a short while after having surgery, but she did not seem uncomfortable while she was there. There was an outside lab that came in to draw routine lab work and doctors were there making rounds and seeing to patients both times I visited this facility. I did not once see a resident that appeared to be uncomfortable or in pain, and the nurses were constantly checking on them several times an hour. The skilled unit was staffed well and I saw physical therapists there helping to keep bedridden residents from getting stiff by helping them do exercises to keep their muscles from wasting away. "

"My grandmother is at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center, and it's been pretty good. We haven't had any complaints. It's very clean. Her room is always clean. Some of these communities can have a little smell, but I don't ever smell anything when I walk in. They do a pretty good job of keeping it clean, considering they've got several people there. They are super nice. They do everything we ask, and they address all of our questions immediately. They're really good. They do need some more CNAs, but I think everywhere is understaffed. I've never eaten that, and my grandmother doesn't like it. But she's also on a special diet for her heart, and her food has to be pureed. I think community food probably isn't the best, but I don't think it's as bad as she makes it sound because she's used to salt and grease and butter."
