Nursing Home Communities in Coalgate, OK

"My sister-in-law is staying at Atoka Manor. She liked it very much. It's a regular nursing home and a skilled care facility, which enabled her to do physical therapy and occupational therapy. In her words, she said," They treat us like royalty." She would love to stay there, except for the price, which is extremely high. She just doesn't feel like she can afford that. Her room was very small, and she had to share it with someone else. They had a huge foyer and a huge TV in there, but they did not have enough individual tables, like domino tables or puzzle tables, for everyone to use. They only had one table. They needed more entertaining areas. They have bingo. They had a nice outdoor area. My sister-in-law has two dogs, which is her main concern. The only way to bring her dogs to visit her there was to go through a long hallway residence, and one of the dogs was too rowdy, so I couldn't even take him in. They had a back gate that entered a green area, which was very nice. Although they had this back gate, they would not unlock it, so it was useless and was a downsize. I just think they needed to be more accommodating for outdoor accommodations. They did a very good job with the therapy. They have excellent people. The food is very good."

"Jan Frances is a decent nursing home, but it is not the most modern or best facility available. My grandmother resides here, and she is cared for competently but not in any outstanding fashion. Some of the staff make the most of what they have and are quite friendly (such as the breathing therapist my grandmother sees), but some are not excited to be there and unafraid to show it. I would not really recommend this facility unless you or your loved one cannot afford a better nursing home. I do not think you need worry about being utterly neglected or badly cared for, but, at the same time, there are most pleasant places to spend the golden years of one's life. I have not seen much sign of social activities at Jan Frances. It also has a bit of a rundown appearance to it. It is, I believe, the least expensive nursing home in the city of Ada, so it is just a basic facility. My grandmother is dependent on government assistance to afford it, but, if you can afford better for you or your loved ones, it would be worth your time to check out other facilities in the area. "

"I wouldn’t bring my family member here the staff is always short their is too many nurses that don’t know anything about a patient. Everyone is always busy talking to eachother. Most of the time I’m having to take it upon myself and give my sister a bedbath because the care isn’t taken care of always. It’s a good place for physical therapy but overall it’s not a good place for one to want to leave your family members to live in. "
