Nursing Home Communities in Owensville, MO

"We wanted to know that our Mom would be happy, well cared for, maintain her health and love of life, and we would have close communications with her and any level of the Frene Staff. All these expectations and more have been met. Mom has resided at Frene since July 2011. It is not easy to keep a close watch on a loved one from 1200 miles away. She had lived in this area for over 50 years, worked at the local bank and so she knew most of the people that reside in or come in to visit loved ones at the facility. She wanted to stay in the area and we had to understand. Most of our friends have care problems for loved ones and do not believe all the activities, attention and communication we have with Frene Valley for Mom. In summary, the greatest comment we can make is what the Frene Valley message is - "Let our family care for your loved one"!! This is so true! We sleep well at night knowing if anything happens we need to know about, a Frene employee will be contacting us. You could not make a better choice for your family."

"The Arbors at Dunsford Court was well kept and very nice. The staff members were informative and helpful. The dining area was very clean and very pretty. You have to furnish your own room. There was no furniture in the room, but it was freshly painted and very well portioned. It was a nice-sized room with a nice private bathroom. They had what they called little suites. It had a mini kitchen, a small living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. I did see that one furnished. It was outstandingly beautiful. They had a little spa too. It had a walk-in tub and a walk-in shower that the residents could use. It was fully remodeled and well managed. They had a game area, a TV area, an exercise area, and an outdoor courtyard."

"We got a tour of New Haven Care Center and we are on their waiting list. We were looking for nursing home care. My mother-in-law needs showers, getting to bed, and she's pretty well wheelchair-bound. When we walked in, I just felt like it was very welcoming and warm. We met with a woman named Teresa, she gave us a thorough walk-through with lots of explanations, and she answered all of the questions that we had for her. She let us know that 94% is the capacity but it was much, much smaller than that due to lack of being able to find employees. Everything just seemed clean, everyone was friendly, and I just had a very good feeling there. I was just very disappointed knowing that there were 28 people in front of my mother-in-law on the waiting list but Teresa said it may not be that many because some people are signed up strictly for rehabilitation and they've probably chosen someplace else at this point. I thought I would give her a call back in a couple of weeks. She said that if it did come to the point where it looked like there would be a spot for my mother-in-law, then she would have to do the paperwork for her. I would just call the rooms a typical nursing-home room where all the beds were hospital beds. That was nice because they had the lifting and lowering accessibility instead of the beds where she is now, where they're only regular twin beds. It looked like everything was well taken care of there and I know they got some choices on their food, which sounded nice. She also showed us the dining area. When it gets to the point where it's a possibility for us then we will spend more time out there. I think that is still the place where we would like for my mother-in-law to go. I was very impressed with Teresa. She didn't act like we were bothering her, and she took special time to show us the entire facility. I felt like she was a very caring person and was in the right job."

"My mom was getting good care from Golden Living Centers. With regard to the cleanliness of the place, I would say I had seen a lot worse. The staff seemed to be friendly and caring. However, there was some disagreement with my father and the staff and I was out of town at that time, so I'm not really sure what exactly happened. If I had to put her back in a nursing home, I would probably choose Golden Living. I really didn't have any complaints about this facility. "

"I just think from visiting this facility that the staff needs to be updated. IRS like it takes a long time for a patient to get help if needed. Too many residents for the staff to take care of. Please update them. They need to care more about the residents. "

"I would recommend Maries Manor to anybody. It's beautiful. The room is a little small, but we have two people in here and I get along really well with my new roommate. The staff has been wonderful. I can't complain about the staff. I can't complain about the residents. It's just perfect. They offer many things. They do Coffee and Chronicles, which is a daily newspaper about different people in history, and they do bingo, painting, and all kinds of different things. The food is s wonderful. The dining room is a little slow and they're a little behind sometimes, but that's OK. It's to be expected. It's a nursing home and they are short-staffed. My needs are met. I'm very happy to be here."
