"Harbor Hill Center was very nice and homey. I felt comfortable the minute I walked through the door. You can bring your own furniture in the rooms, and they can also supply you with furnishing. Their dining setup is restaurant style, and if they want to eat in the room, they can, but they don't encourage it because they want them out to socialize with other people. They have an exercise room, outdoor space if anybody wants to go out and sit, and a great room where everybody can get together. The staff was wonderful."

"This place is one of the best places i have ever seen. the staff, filled with beautiful ladies and smart, brave men, are top of the line. they are well focused on their studies, as well as very interested in the medical field.The facility itself has all top of the line machinery. blood pressure cuffs, patient lifts, gurneys, wheelchairs, you name it, and the Maine Veterans Home has it in top of the line condition. The Management could be a little better though. They schedule workers for hours they specifically asked not to be scheduled for, and the management doesn't care. a worker tells management that he or she can't work that day, so they don't show up, but they get in trouble and have to attend attendance protocol hearings with the big boss. its outrageous. it's like nobody is listeneing to them at all! and for all the hardwork they do! "

"I feel that narraguagus bay healthcare facility is among the average. I saw no care that was overly impressive. The CNA's seemed very rushed and spent little time providing emotional support to the residents. Meal times were hectic, but the food was sufficient. Basic care needs were met with most residents. One in particular suffered bed sores form not being turned. I feel this is unacceptable at any time. The facility was overall clean. Resident's rights were respected. There was a good balance between the old experienced CNA's and the young not as experienced ones. Some of the more experienced tended to cut a lot of corners unlike the young ones who have been recently taught properly. The nurses were very good. When asked to check a resident they did so promptly and balanced patient care with paperwork. Overall I would say the facility is decent as long as the resident has a family to provide emotional support, as this is a need just like any other. "

"The staff at Stillwater Health Care was wonderful, very friendly, informative, and very welcoming. It was nice, bright, and clean. They seemed to have a lot of things going on and daily activities, like somebody was there singing and playing the piano, and they do different arts and crafts projects. They showed us the memory care and the nursing care facilities."

"My husband was in Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for a while for nursing and skilled rehab services. I would have to go back there because they didn't give us all his clothes when he left. The care was very good, though there were a few things I wasn't happy with. One day I went in to see my husband (since I went every day), and they never told me that he had COVID, which made me mad. They had no reason not to tell me that. The meals were good and everything else I thought was good. The only other thing I didn't care for was that the communication between them and me wasn't exactly what I would have expected. Trying to get a hold of the right people to talk to was often hard, they're very busy. I would have to run out to the nurse's desk to ask questions or try to get a hold of the lady in charge of the care, they're always busy, and I understand that but my time was valuable too. The building was very clean, they had common rooms and different dining areas. It's beautiful outside, it's an older building but it's very nice. Overall, I was really satisfied except for the lack of communication at some point. I thought it was very expensive, that's one of the reasons why we left, and it's self-pay for us. The place where he's now is twice as good as this place and costs $500 less a month. They also did activities and they had a monthly sheet of activities that they do with the people. They had pizza parties and things like that, every day was different."

"Sylvia Ross Home at Ross Manor is very attractive, very welcoming, and very clean. My friend has been there for about six months now and she's very pleased. They have great care. They come in and do vitals, and you can stay there and graduate into more serious health issues. It's right there, so you don't have to go off and find another place. The food is good. She loves it. There's always some kind of entertainment going on. The fact is, I'm jealous of what she has. Nobody entertains me or washes my floors. They do everything for you. She's got a washer and dryer in her room and a nice bathroom. It's a one-bedroom, and it's very pleasant, very sunshiny, and lovely. The staff is excellent and knowledgeable. The only complaint my friend has that lives there is that the directory is missing. It tells you where a person is, and it's hard for people to come to find somebody. Other than that, everything's good. They do different things. They have bingo. She had to give up her car when she went there, and it was hard to do some of the things that she was used to doing, like having her hair done. They went beyond the call of duty to get her to places that she needed to go. I've been to some of the things that they've had there. I think that she's happy, and her brother oversees her money, and he's satisfied with what she gets for her money."

"I have chosen The Sylvia Ross Home at Ross Manor for my mom. The biggest reason was that the people there were so thoughtful, kind, and caring, and they spent as much time with me as I wanted to ask questions and show me around and just to emphasize that they were going to take good care of her. The rooms that they have are more like an apartment. I will be moving my mom today. The staff was just understanding and helpful. It's a beautiful facility. They have a gym, a salon, a library, a dining room, and a music room."
