"Mount Saint Joseph Residence & Rehabilitation at 7 Highwood St, Waterville, ME 04901 has friendly staff. The nursing staff are respectful and strive to treat their patients with dignity. Unfortunately, the are two areas that are lacking when dealing with their patients lifestyles. The first is the kitchen. Their food can be considered mediocre, at best. They do not have anything that sticks out as good. Nutritional information is hard to get from the kitchen. As a diabetic, I found this particularly troublesome. The other area of concern is in regards to personal property. A friend of mine brought over my flat panel TV and surround sound bar, one weekend. That Monday, I was informed that I could not use my TV because they provide a 20" TV for me to watch. Considering my bed is 10 Feet away from that TV, seeing the screen is problematic. Their justification was the following: 1) They did not want to be liable for any damage that occurs to my 32" Seiki. 2) According to one of the hospital's administrators, "YOu are on a short term Rehab unit, so I do not get the privilege have my own TV, even though many residents in their residential facility do have the right to have that. All in all, your relatives will be well cared for while they stay here. There is good staff to client ratio. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Your loved ones will be well cared for. "

"My grandfather stayed in this nursing home during his last few months with us on earth. The staff were very friendly. My grandfather had Lewie-Body Dementia, and was very difficult to deal with at times. They always treated him well. He was even given permission to have his dog, and life-long companion, visit him regularly. That kept him in high spirits, and most places don't allow that. When it came time for my grandfather to pass they were very helpful to our family. We were given a large room, as my grandfather has around 15 children, and there are about 30 of us grandchildren. They allowed us to stay with him until he took his last breath. They were so kind to us all. They made his last few months very peaceful for him, and easier on the family. I truly thank them for what they did for my grandfather. He was kept as comfortable as possible at all times. They went above and beyond what a normal nurse would do, to ensure that he was always happy and well taken care of. The only downfall to him being in a home was not being able to see him at any time, but that is not their fault. "

"Cedar Ridge Center is very nice. Under the conditions of today, it's not adequate for the patients to be at. As of today, it is not adequate for anybody to be at because the patients can't leave the room, unless they have visitors, to go outdoors. It was very isolated because of the COVID. This is the third time that my mother is there, so they're very good. The place is very clean. On a regular basis, there's a lot of activities and it's very nice, but because of the COVID it's very limited. They have some outside music, dancing, and entertainment a few times, and that was a delight. They can't do much inside. It is overly expensive."

"This is such a wonderful assisted living. The staff is lovely, low-key, and welcoming - and there are many of them, relative to the number of residents, so no one feels rushed and Mom gets plenty of attention. Everyone seems happy and they appear to love their jobs and to be very well-organized. The building is pretty and well-maintained. They have made our mother feel at home and supported her in being as independent as possible. Her apartment is beautiful. We feel incredibly fortunate. "

"My husband was in Marshwood Center for a couple of weeks and then passed away. He was in skilled nursing. They were about to put him into hospice, but that didn't happen because he passed away too soon. It seemed to be very good. I didn't have any qualms with it. They took fairly good care of him. We stayed most of the day, every day, so we kind of oversaw the care he was getting, which was good. The staff was very good. He was one of those patients they had to keep an eye on because he would try to get up and couldn't. They had him right across from the nurse's station so they could keep an eye on him. They don't want him to fall and that was a good thing. The structure was pretty good. It's been there a long time, so it does need some redo, could stand some paint and stuff, but it was clean. They had quite a few things going on, but we weren't part of it. He wasn't able to do that. The atmosphere was quite open. You come in the door and there's never anybody there, but we knew where we were headed generally. After the first time, it was not a problem for us, but like all of them, they could stand a little more help in the front office part of things, but it worked out for us. He had a nice private room which looked out on the back wood line. It's back in the area away from a lot of houses and stuff. It was quite pleasant. We had a birdfeeder out there and we'd just look outside. He had a reasonably good room."

"My wife is an advanced Alzheimer patient, recently placed at Montello Manor. I visit her daily. The care that I have seen from both the staff and administration has been exemplary. They not only take excellent care of her physical needs but interact with her daily on a personal level. They greet me every day with a rundown on how her day has been going and keep me informed of any changes in her physical or mental condition. A staff that shows genuine excitement in letting me know each time she does something that exceeds expectations for her condition is a group that instills confidence in their abilities and concern for my wife. I can't thank them enough for their services.Getting through the emotional stress of being unable to continue caring for my wife at home has been greatly relieved by seeing how well she is cared for at Montello Manor. I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants to see that their loved one is receiving better care than the individual, acting as home caregiver, can provide at home. "
