"We chose Southern Traditions for my father. It looks like a school with a cinder block building, cinder block rooms, and cinder block hallways. It's a little quiet place for those with dementia. The staff seems to be a good bunch of folks. They all seem to be good-spirited people. When I go visit my dad, I would take him out to lunch because they pretty much just serve hospital food. They have crafts and painting, and they have get-togethers. They've got a little gazebo outside and they have a big screen TV out in the hallway."

"I recently toured Winthrop Manor Nursing Home. I have toured many nursing homes over the years, and this one is highest on my list in terms of quality. The nursing staff was abundant and professional. It was also the cleanest and sweetest smelling Nursing Home I have ever toured. The patients looked clean and neatly dressed and all the interactions I saw between staff and patient were polite and professional and very patient and kind. I was also told that they were starting a new computerized oversight system to keep up with logging details. I am sorry to say I don't remember the name of the program or exactly what it does other than make the staff more self disciplined and accountable for accidents. If you tour the facility yourself you can find out more details about the new system. I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone that has to face that difficult choice of where to place a parent or other loved one. It's definitely the top tier of Nursing Homes in our area. "

"I was pleased with Cartersville because NOT ONLY do they offer influenza and Pneumococcal vaccinations to all long term clients but short term as well. Alot of homes would require short terms to get there own shots. "

"My husband is a resident I did not think he would adjust but he did. Although he can be a hand full sometimes the nurses and cna's are patient with him.he has alzheimers and has several other medical issues the nurses and cna's all keep me updated with progress or if somthing is being changed with his care. Although I can not visit as often as I like I know he is in good hands "

"We chose this facility mainly because of the convenience. Cartersville Heights is near the family. They take good care of their patients. The grounds are well kept. To improve the facility, they need more staff. They are a bit understaffed. "

"I am very well pleased with Fifth Avenue Health Care, and with everybody. They all seem to go out of their way to help you and make you comfortable. If you need anything (I'm on three liters of oxygen), all I have to do is say, "I'm out of oxygen," and they come running. I was just really, really weak when I got here. I could not even get on a bed by myself. Now I can get on my bed and off to my wheelchair. The people giving me therapy are wonderful. The dietitian is also wonderful. She comes in and asks me if I feel like I can eat. Everybody is just really helpful and caring. I cannot say enough for this facility, because it is a wonderful place. They serve us very good food three times a day. Of course, everybody's taste is different, but from end of January until the end of February all I could eat was mashed potatoes. Then I got to where I could eat oatmeal. We all congregate in the dining room. They even feed some patients in their bed, to where everybody feels a part of the community here. Of course the weather has not been to where I can go outside yet or anything, but they have bingo on Monday mornings usually, and they have devotions, musical groups come in, and different entertainers come in from Cartersville. They came in for Valentine's Day. They provide entertainment that keeps people satisfied and happy. If I don't feel like coming to the dining room or if I'm tired, they come get me and they push me. I'm just so thankful because the nurses and everybody are really caring here. This place is clean and I'm a clean freak. Everybody works together trying to help the patients. They're always attentive and take care of us. I'm really pleased with them. Whenever you press the emergency light, they are here."

"Good simple nursing home - had a rather homey feel and down to earth attendants. Inside, while not fancy, was simple, but clean. No noxious odors that lingered. My dad was here for approx. three weeks and I believe that he would have liked to have stayed longer (thanks insurance) - he is very opinionated and the only thing he grumbled a bit about was that his tv would only go to one channel a day (they later reprogrammed) and sometimes his food was not hot (it happens) but other than that he had no complaints. He had been in another about 4-5 years ago after back surgery and what I found to be different was that this place was painted a light color inside so it wasn't "gloomy" - They have a person who comes and cuts hair so he was able to write a check and get his hair cut which made him feel better as well. I believe dad would go back there again, if he ever needed too. Ladies in the office were helpful as well - thanks Kristin, Tammy and Rhonda (think that was her name - she answers the phone) as well as the nurses and physical therapists! "

"I came to Rome Health & Rehab for Rehab after breaking my knee. They were very welcoming. The staff is friendly, caring and attentive to patient needs. When not in rehab I participated in bingo, cooking class & having refreshments on the front porch. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing assistance. "

"I visited The Spires just last month. It's new, it's beautifully decorated, it offers all the amenities you'd want, and the staff in there were great. It's just very expensive. We saw one room; it seemed nice and adequate. Nothing extraordinary, just a nice room. They have a pool, gym, and a salon. They also have a snack-bar kind of thing where you can buy snacks during the day if you want. They have a large dining room and a chef."

"My family member went there for evaluation thru hosp and other nursing home. She was left there for a month in psych ward and after fighting to get her back at nursing home they finally sent her back. She had lice and having had a UTI before it seems it was never addressed there and they gave her meds to sleep because she kept hollering. I would hill at to with a bladder/kidney infection for over a month. Her husband said he doesn't think she had a shower at all but can't be proven. Never did they have a consultation with family. Run do not go there"

"This is such a beautiful place and it feels very home like. The people are so nice and welcoming. My mother is well taken care of and loves the folks there as she can be very challenging. Thanks for caring for my mom."
