We chose The Cottages of Swansboro for my sister because of the location, the price, and what was included in the price because it's a flat fee. They don't charge extra if medications are required. Everything is included in the flat rate. It's very nice and very affordable. It's a home setting, so each person has their own room. There are six people in each cottage and everybody has their own dining room and living room within the cottage. Everyone comes to the table and has a meal as a family. Each cottage has one house mother to six residents. They have three or four shifts throughout the day, but they're always assigned to the same cottage. They have a staff that goes through all the cottages to give out medicines. The food is fabulous and homecooked. Each cottage has their own laundry facility. I love all the people there. It feels like family. The director is fabulous. We are happy with it so far. They have an online beauty shop and an activities director, do art, play games like Jeopardy, and have a little bus that takes them to different places. They have therapy dogs and gospel groups that come in.
