My father was at Wilkes Senior Village for the allotted number of days that Medicaid would allow him. The place itself was adequate. However, the wheelchair that he used was not what he needed. The care was not up to par. His catheter was put in, but it was not changed which created an infection. He was not showered or bathed as required. We had to bring that out to their attention. He had severe nosebleed. It was supposed to be cauterized and it was a week or two after that it was ever cauterized. It was not a good experience. Most of the CNAs were really nice and did the best that they could. Their physical therapists were awesome. They're also very energetic and personable. They care about what they do. The CNAs had very good bedside manner as far as talking to my dad and making him feel comfortable. The grounds were maintained very nicely and the place was clean and decorated nicely, too. The hallways were very pleasant with different things to look at. They actually had murals painted on their walls.
