They nursing staff is amazing. They go above and beyond for the residents and their families. All staff members are always willing to help with anything that comes up. I am very grateful for the kindness towards my Mom even when she's giving them a hard time.

We were told that the Brian Center was one of the “better” facilities but that was a lie. My grandma was supposed to been there for 14 days for rehab due to a broken hip. During her visit we could only go up to her window to see her due to COVID. We would have to call multiple times just to get anyone to answer the phone so someone could pull her blinds up. One day upon visiting her her blinds were already up and when we got to the window she was hanging half way on the floor and half way on the bed we had to call the facility to alert them that she was about to fall. The next following day we revived a call saying she had fallen out of bed. My grandma had also been rushed to the hospital one day, she was seen a the wound care clinic WOUNDCARE checked her sugar and it was 30 SHE IS DIABETIC! Brian center did not contact her family to let them know she had gotten rushed to the hospital. They did not feed her they only said “they encouraged her to eat” she lost so much weight at the facility I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

I was put on the 200 hall while waiting for a room on the 500 hall. I couldn’t believe how the patients were treated!!! My roommate and I were giving way below standard care at night! After 11:30 p.m. at night the CNAs disappear and it’s impossible to get anyone to come in the room. One night I had the call light on for almost 3 hours, because I needed to go to the bathroom, no one ever came so I called the main number to get assistance. At the time I was unable to walk because I had been in the hospital after a bad wreck. My roommate pushed her call light all night and no one ever came. She screamed in pain all night long! She screamed so loud I feel like someone should have heard her. I came in the Brian center on a Wednesday and they told us that I would be moved to the Rehab hall by Friday. I kept asking on Friday when I would be moved and they kept telling me soon, at 11:00 in the evening I still hadn’t been moved . I was. unable to walk walk so I called the 24 hour number , 15 minutes later they moved me. They had told me before then that they didn’t move anyone at night! I wouldn’t put my worst enemy on the 200 hall . It was better after I got moved albeit a couple of the CNAs had a bad attitude. I was so happy to be released. I went to the Brian center because I was told that they were the best . I wonder how the worst would have been, I shudder to think about it. My advice is if you put a loved one in there you should have someone stay with them at night so they will be cared for properly.

My sister was patient here for approximately 2 yrs. In total. But had to be admitted to hospital about every 4-6weeks due to infections she'd obtain. She went there for rehab from broken hip.Was a diabetic. I visited every day. Many times she be lying in urine. She died in July from sepsis. Many of Her belongings were missing when family went to pick up. Staff said they didnt know what happen to them. When my sister first went there she was alert, loved to laugh loved to talk interacted.we sit and talk, laugh.watch tv. Then she caught MRSA. FROM THAT POINT ON SHE WAS IN AND OUT OF HOSPITAL . KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES OUT IF THIS PLACE!

I have been in the facility multiple times because my grandmother was a resident. Staff is friendly and always helpful. Building is always clean and smells clean. Room and residents are always clean. I would send any of my family or friends to have rehab. Their rehab and activity department are awesome.

My Dad was entrusted to the care of this facility on two occasions. I cannot thank the staff enough for the loving care he was given on both occasions. As it often is with our aged parents both time and existing health issues resulted in his recent death. Without the care he received at this facility the event would have been so much more distressing. They not only took care of him but me also. I feel like we truly were in the care of family. I know there were many who were involved in his care...many I probably never met but the staff members I interacted with were phenomenal. From the Front Office all the way down to the lady who cleaned his room they made a difference in our lives. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone needing rehab or nursing care.

I came here for rehab and was on 500 hall with great nurses and assistance. I was kept informed of my progress and it was a healthy experience. Then I got moved to 200 hall and the care dropped dramatically! 45 minutes to an hr. to answer call button while employees walk up and down the halls and ignore the patients. Patients hollering and screaming and constantly being ignored. My experiences are like going from the penhouse of care and rehab to the outhouse. All I can say is check carefully before making your decision.

My father was a patient at Brian Center in Goldsboro in late 2017 and the level of care on the nursing side was atrocious. He was there primarily for physical therapy but the under staffed, under qualified, inexperienced and vindictive nurses put my father in the emergency room after a few short weeks. There are few choices in Goldsboro but highly recommend you consider options in Clinton or other surrounding areas instead of Brian Center. Your family member deserves better! I only wish I had been available to advise my elderly mother, who doesn't drive, on her choice of Brian Center for my father's rehab after his stroke. The result of that choice has been devastating.

Brian Center is an older facility with a few small issues but nothing major. The physical therapy department and occupational therapy department has been great. The administration has been really good in working with us. Overall, it's a rehab center but better. They were able to put my mother-in-law back on a regular diet from pureed food. They have a beauty shop, and she was able to get her hair done. They have a nice garden area that they use for physical therapy.

My mother was directed to this facility by the hospital related to her need for rehabilitation. She did not get the needed attention required for her condition as she got at the hospital and as a result she pass in less than 24 hours of being placed in this facility. Before you allow your family member to enter this facility make sure they have the needed equipment to support your love ones need and the acquit staff to perform the task required. This facility had neither the staff or the proper equipment needed to support my moms needs so she passed.

I wish it were possible to give a "no star" or negative rating. When looking at nursing homes for my mom, I was told that this was the "best nursing home in the county"....God help us all if that's true. My mother was there for almost 8 years and the only reason she lasted that long was due to the dedicated part-time private care-giver that I employed to care for her and do things that should have been within the scope & duties of the staff. They were usually understaffed and the ones who showed up were over-worked. (One nurse told me that after working a double shift, they tried to bribe her with a $25.00 gift card to continue to work through the next shift. She refused, stating that her nursing license was too important to jeopardize in that manner.) Tired, overworked staff cannot safely perform their duties in a manner that the residents deserve. Being bedridden and completely helpless, unable to comprehend or communicate in any way, we'd often find Mom lying in urine soaked diapers, clothing and bedding. Medical care was a joke. We continually had to inform the nurses or doctor that mom had a fever, UTI, bedsores, wounds, etc. and it usually took a day or so for them to prescribe/get medication. She contracted numerous infections and viruses (MERSA, bacterial infections of the blood, etc.) apparently due to the lack of hygienic procedures by those who cared for her. We had to insist on numerous occasions that she be taken to the hospital due to her state of health, brought on by the quality/lack of care at this facility. We were told on several of those admissions that she would not live to make it out of the hospital due to infections that she contracted in the nursing home. Each time we had Mom taken to the hospital, the facility doctor would chastise us for having done so probably because the doctors at the hospital would express disgust at the condition that she had been allowed to digress to. Early on, the home office head of nursing and a previous administrator refused to listen to my requests that the bed rails on mom's bed be raised due to her frequent falls and they informed me that "it is a patient's right to fall". After her passing, it took repeated phone calls and office visits for over a year to get them to return the money that had been left in her account. They're all about the $$$$$.....

My mother was in this facility for three nights before we had her transferred to another facility. There is not enough staff to take care of the people there. The rooms are not clean and the paint is coming off the wall in some areas. There is a strong odor of urine, when I walked in the door. They put a diaper on our Mom, who does not wear one without asking. The staff kept saying they did not have a treatment plan because she was new. She did not get a bath until 1:30 pm, Sunday, they were so busy. The food that was served there was awful. She could not eat it. We had to bring food to her .We stayed there with her throughout the day to help her as needed. We were literally afraid for her safety. I would not recommend this facility. The state and other agencies that approve this place need to make unannounced frequent visits. This population deserve better care. I have it a 1 star, because there was not a zero listed.

The only reason I am giving this 1 star is because I cannot rate it without a star. This is the most hideous place I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My grandmother was there and would have been better served at home alone because that is about what she received while she was there. The staff are consistently in a poor mood and seem irritated if asked about anything. They seem to be short-staffed as it takes quite a bit of time to carry out any task. The scariest thing about this facility is the lack of knowledge regarding infections control and appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment). The ONLY way I would recommend this facility is in the case of payback for a horrid childhood!

My husband was in Brian Center and he wasn’t pleased with the help. They have a mixture of people that are in there, and they don’t have enough help. My husband needs total care. The room wasn’t bad, it was just really the atmosphere, it was just a big place and I won’t take him back there again. The food was not that good, I would take him food every day for lunch in there. The dining area was pretty clean. They have activities, but he can’t participate.
