I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband is in Brookdale Country Day Road. They're friendly, caring, and loving. It's a very nice facility. They have a dining room, an activities room, a chapel, and they wash and dry the residents' clothes if the resident wants them to. They take the residents to and from the dining room that need assistance. They provide housekeeping. The food is usually very good. It looks pretty on the plate. They have bingo and happy hour. They have rocking chairs out front where the residents truly enjoy with fans and cover. They offer transportation to and from doctor's offices and such. They have a salon where residents can get hair done, fingers and toes. They have July 4th parties and Labor Day parties. They have singing. They have a girl that comes in and does some chair exercises with them. They have different churches that come in and have bible study and Sunday school. Everything is far more expensive these days than we would like, but for the quality that you get, it's definitely four stars. The business staff, the office staff, the activities director, and the nursing staff are five stars.

I visited this facility

We toured Brookdale Country Day Road, and we were greeted by Amy. She's the person who does the walk through and she was wonderful. The atmosphere was amazing. There are rocking chairs out front, and there must've been 15 of them full of people chatting and listening to music that was playing. People were talking. We asked the ladies how they liked it, and they loved it there. They had fun and they said they liked it. We walked through the rooms, and the rooms were great. It's clean, and it smelled good. It seemed like there was plenty to do and plenty of items to eat on the menus. They sold us that, and the lady who gave us the tour was wonderful. They had a couple of different sizes of rooms. They were very nice. There were windows in each one. They brought their own furniture, and it was like an apartment. It was more like a nice hotel room. The bathrooms were huge. There were safety features everywhere. They not only wear something around their neck but in the restroom, they have cords they can pull up. It's very easy to get in and out of showers. It's large for someone in a wheelchair. They can get around the room. They also allow them to personalize each room and even put a little flag in the hallway that shows their personality. It was really neat.

I visited this facility

Brookdale Country Day Road was where we wanted my grandmother to go and then she got sick, so we just kept her close to our home. I wanted to move in there. It's a lovely building, they had great staff, and it's a good location. They'll take you to places in town, they will get you to your doctor's appointments, they have a doctor that comes there, and they have a full beauty parlor. I was ready to get old, so I could move in. I did not try the food. They were serving lunch when we were there and it smelled delicious. They had church groups, music, arts and crafts, games, bingo, and board games. We wanted her to be able to go there. Everyone we met, even just in the hallway, was so nice. The facility was gorgeous and well-maintained. They had private sitting areas in each wing for families, a library, a big giant front porch with chairs and rockers, outdoor courtyards, and a sunroom.

I visited this facility

We toured Brookdale Country Day Road. It was very, very impressive. However, they don't provide the amount of care that my mom needs, so they said she didn't qualify to go there. They thought my mom needed more care than what they could provide. However, I was impressed with the staff. I was very impressed with the place. It's new and very nice. They had a courtyard there.

My father is at Brookdale Country Day Road. We chose them because they were very helpful in getting us all the information we needed, and getting us in there. The employees are all very nice and helpful. His room is clean, and works perfect for him. He said the food is okay. They're very good at keeping the family informed about the residents. It's reasonable.

I visited this facility

I had a good visit at Brookdale Country Day Road. The rooms were nice, but it's just not what we were looking for. I like the fact that there were opportunities and things for the residents to do. They have little trips, bingo nights, and stuff like that. They offer three meals a day, and the staff member who gave the tour was knowledgeable in telling me about the community.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We’ve already moved here at Brookdale Country Day Road last October. We enjoyed living here; there’s nice people. They are very efficient and have a lot of interesting activities to participate in if you want to, and we are very satisfied. The staff is very good. We had an apartment with 1 bedroom and 1 living area. They have games and checkers.

My dad is at Brookdale. The rooms are very pleasant and are like apartments with different sizes available. Everything is wonderful and looks great. He has only been there for a few days, but everything has been great. The food is very good, too. The facility looks clean.

Brookdale Country Day Road is a great place. They have a lot going on for my grandmother, and it feels homey, very comfortable, and spacious. They have church activities, Bible studies, arts and crafts, dessert socials, people coming in with music, and exercise classes. The rooms are very private, and most the staff is really helpful. I think they've had a recent turnover, though, so the whole staff is new, and that has been their biggest challenge.

The Pines was beautiful and outstanding. The rooms were very nice. They had all kinds of activities. They even had a church if you wanted to go to church. They would take you shopping if you wanted to go shopping. They had helpful staff. I met someone named Leslie who I thought was the coordinator of that place. She constantly reached out and called. She was on top of everything. She wanted to know if we were uncomfortable with certain things there that we would like changed if we would be living there. She's very helpful with the things that we needed. We saw the dining room and it was nice.

I visited this facility

The staff was nice, but I was less impressed with The Pines of Goldsboro. I thought it was a smaller facility and that it had a bit of age to it. I would think that they need to do a little bit more work in terms of keeping the place feeling fresher. The dining room looked nice; it was the right size for the facility. I actually thought they work a little too hard to try to get my aunt to think about that place. I know that these people are salespersons, but I felt that that person was more of a regular salesperson because she was just trying too hard. I thought it was clean, but I think they need to work a little bit harder at it. I remember the residents being very quiet; I don’t remember them being very active.

It was nice and clean; people were friendly and I liked it. However, my aunt didn't want to move far from her friends. I liked how nice and clean the rooms were. The staff seemed to be friendly and accommodating.

We were familiar with it and it's always been one of the better assisted living homes in Goldsboro. The facility is very clean. The staff is very professional. Everyone who works there goes out of their way to make sure that my mother's needs are met. They have a very nice dining facility, and anyone can eat there. The food was extremely good, and it was better than I thought it would be. When you have a special diet, they can prepare it for you. They have a nice sitting area, TV room, and exercise room. They have a lot of activities, but my mother has not really participated in them because she has dementia. They have a nice facility, but most importantly, I like the way they treated my mother. It is just really a nice facility, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for assisted living.
