I can't say enough to praise Day Haven. The staff is warm, friendly and made my mom feel right at home from the moment she walked in. I really didn't want to place my mom in a facility so finding this place was a god send because there was no way I could take care of her by myself even though i'm retired. She has dementia and requires constant attention. She goes to this program 5 days a week and when she comes home i can tell she has had a good day. She is more alert then I've seen her in a long time. They offer breakfast, lunch and snack. They do art projects, children come in and do inter-generational programs which my mom loves since she was a teacher. The woman who runs the activities does fabulous discussion groups which are relevant to what my mom is going through. It's truly a special place. -Dorothy

My husband goes to DayHaven 4 days a week. Before starting this program he was moody & depressed. Now he is Happy. I beleive he is very comfortable at DayHaven. When at home he's unable to do any of the projects that once was his life.At DayHaven he does activities that stimulate his mind & body with out him feeling he is being put under presure. He says he can't remember what he did that day ,but he must have enjoyed it because he's not mad at me. DayHaven has also given me back my sanity. I now have some ME time which was greatly needed. DayHaven also has Support Groups that have given me insight to this disease.We discuss Ideas on how to handle the constant changing problems of Alzeimers/Dementia.I now know that I'm not alone.The Staff are wonderful and well educated for their positions of taking care of our Loved Ones.I'm thankful for finding DayHaven!!
