Robynwood Assisted Living

We went and checked out Robynwood Assisted Living for my mother-in-law. The girl was very thorough in showing us around. The staff that we met was very, very friendly and personable. She answered every question that we asked. She was not pushing us like she had a time restraint on her end. We could have sat there for 2 hours, if we wanted to. It was very, very nice. I saw their activities board. They have a lot of things to offer. They have a salon there every Friday, and they had things that they would do.

I have been familiar with this facility for about 3 years. My grandmother who is 75 years old resides in this facility. Although the building was rather small, this facility seemed to be above average. The smaller space resulted in more attention to the residents and a more comfortable environment. The staff was superb as well. They treated residents with the upmost respect and provided a sense of comfort for the elders. There were many activities available for the elders for fun. There were recreational centers in the downstairs for optional entertainment daily along with the cafeteria. Lastly, since this facility is located within a small town, the community is very close knit and the elders enjoy many different events the town has to offer for them. Many children and young adults volunteer their time to make the elders feel special and happy. Whether it be playing cards or simply listening to the stories of the residents, these volunteers are a significant factor in the residents life, providing happiness and a sense of comfort. Overall, I am pleased with this facility and believe that the staff quality is one of the best factors of the facility.

Compared to other assisted living facilities Robynwood appeared slightly above average. Cosmetically the facility was pleasant, and the small size appeared to benefit the residents as they were given a lot of time and attention from the staff. The staff appeared well trained, although burdened at times, and lacking in patience. Further, there were a few residents that would have befitted from a more care intensive facility. The staff did take great strides to keep the environment lively, and daily entertainment and activities are planned that are optional for the residents. The downstairs serves as a cafeteria and recreational center for the residents, and a few of the residents I got the chance to speak to praised the facility and spoke highly of the staff; both the nursing staff and cafeteria workers alike. The facility is also active in the local community, which was spoken of as a high point by the residents who enjoyed the interaction and involvement with the larger community.
