The Pines nursing home is truly the best one in the area, my grandmother was a resident in this facility for approximately seven years, the whole time suffering from severe dementia. The care here was above and beyond what I would expect. The nursing staff was knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to help out.As a testament to the care of the nurses, my grandma, who spend 15 years in nursing homes prior to her death was a constant sufferer of bed sores in the eight years before we found the Pines, however during her seven years as a resident she never had another sore. As general information, the rooms are set up as doubles, every patient having a roommate. The care is all inclusive, with a hair dressing area, full food service in a cafeteria style environment, social gatherings such as bingo and bringing in local artists as presenters. Additionally, there is a doctor on call 24/7 and the facility is approximately ten minutes from the local hospital. There is physical therapy for all patients and a full time nursing staff.During my gradma's illness we tried out most, if not all, of the local nursing homes and the Pines was by far the best.

Both my grandmother and grandfather lived at the Pines for various points, and I visited them often. There are some good things the facility does. Meal time was orderly and the food looked well done. But for the most part, I was disappointed with the entire experience. The staff seemed to care little for the patients, whether it was because they were understaffed or overworked, but they more or less parked residents outside their rooms and left them there. The facility was under construction when I visited, so I might not have a complete view, but I was disappointed with the building as well. It was dark, dank and seemed to always have exposed wiring and ceiling tiles. It just did not look like a place anyone would want to live or visit. I hope for their sake they can make some improvements, as there isn't really much competition in town for them.
