My mother had lived at Lutheran for 11 years. When she came out of rehab, the Lutheran would not allow her to move in. They were not very receptive to taking her. They told me, “Well, if you want to wait in the rehab at $340 a night, we will be happy to keep her until something opens up." It was a beautiful, brand-new facility. They were just not very receptive. The staff wasn’t helpful. After I had moved my mother into the other place for about two weeks, they called me and said, “Oh, we have an opening now,” but I was 600 miles away and could not go back and move her. I was very frustrated because she wanted to live there. She had lived at the independent housing for 11 years, and they would not immediately accept her into the assisted living. However, the facility was beautiful. The rooms and bathrooms were large. The only problem I had was with the staff.
