The Alzheimer's Association provides in-services to the staff as needed.
Describe the overall population of assisted living residents at Seneca Lake Terrace. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
The average age is about 84. We have many residents who enjoy going into the community. Several have their own cars. We offer trips into town and for shopping, the lake and trips to the casino. Residents love trivia, card games, dice games and Wii bowling.
What programs or activities does Seneca Lake Terrace offer to enrich residents' well-being?
Daily morning exercise. Trivia, crafts, trips into community (shopping, wine trials, casino, music by the lake).
What places are near Seneca Lake Terrace or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
Shopping at Wegmans, Wal-Mart, Big Lots. Many local restaurants. Hobart William Smith College down the road. Beautiful lake & wineries!
What transportation services does Seneca Lake Terrace offer to assisted living residents?
We offer a 12 person accessible van with a wheelchair/walker lift. We use the van for outings into the community and on Wednesdays, medical transportation trips.
What makes the chef or dining program at Seneca Lake Terrace exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted living residents expect?
We offer a restaurant-style menu and residents can choose from the main meal or an alternative. We also offer a large menu of alternative items such as cottage cheese platter, soups, assorted sandwiches.
What safety features or security measures does Seneca Lake Terrace offer to assisted living residents?
We offer 24/7 staffing. Around-the-clock supervision. Room checks. Doors are alarmed and we utilize several security cameras. Bathrooms are equipped with call bell and next to bed/chair is another call bell.
How does Seneca Lake Terrace keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
We offer a Monthly Newsletter and monthly Activity Schedule. Both are accessible online for families to access. We also take many pictures and post them on our "blog" and Facebook page.
What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at Seneca Lake Terrace during daytime and nighttime hours?
We staff at about 6 wellness staff on days, 5 on evening and 3 for overnights.
If Seneca Lake Terrace accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
Residents would be solely responsible for the upkeep and walking of the pets. We have outdoor paths, a gazebo, and many green areas for pets to roam as needed.
What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
Staff receive monthly training in a wide variety of items (hand washing, Oxygen use, fire safety, meaningful activities) and we also have the Alzheimer's Association provide in-services to the residents, staff and families as needed.
How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
6 Wellness on days, 3 on nights.
What safety features or security measures does Seneca Lake Terrace provide to protect residents who wander?
We offer a 12 bed Memory Care unit for those who have a tendency to wander. The doors have a delayed egress system and would alarm if pushed upon or opened.
Is Seneca Lake Terrace affiliated with a hospital if more care is needed?
No, we do have a close relationship with Geneva General Hospital and the Living Center (Rehab/Skilled Nursing) in downtown Geneva.
