My aunt moved into Mcauley Hall Health Care Center. It's a very sanitary facility, and they keep my aunt very busy. She has a lot of opportunities to socialize with other people. The demographics of the residents are in keeping with her expectations. She is 97 years old, and she's very set in her ways. And that being said, she's very comfortable with her neighbors in the facility, and that would not necessarily be the case in some of the other facilities that I researched before we decided to enroll her here. This one meets, or exceeds all the criteria that I had going in terms of what I was looking for. This is the nicest place of all the places that I visited. The residents have scheduled meals three times a day, and they also have a small room that is on the floor that they are welcome to visit and obtain some snacks, things like that, if they feel hungry between meals. The meals are served punctually and they're given the opportunity to sit down at a table with some fellow residents and have their meals, or they do have their meals in their rooms. So there are plenty of options. It was by far the most reasonable in terms of the bottom line.

The staff allows my mother to take a walk outdoors with me, so that she can see the wild woodchuck and the deer. She can then walk through the greenhouse where some of the residents grow plants. The facilities are kept clean. My mother has help taking a sit-down shower a few times a week. A doctor comes around to trim her toenails.She is allowed to travel to the dentist and for occasional family functions, accompanied by a member of the staff.In the winter, she goes to the community room to win $1 prizes at Bingo. She attends a Catholic Mass on-site a few times a week.My mother only takes one pill, but the staff makes sure she doesn't miss taking it. She takes herself between floors by operating an elevator. Meals are taken in a common room. They provide a wheelchair for her to get there, and they let her push her wheelchair if she wishes.
