My father-in-law is in Webwood Assisted Living. It is a small family-owned assisted living facility. It's fairly new and very home-like. They have nice people. It's clean. They have private rooms. They have activities. You can be as dependent or as independent as you need to be. There's a nurse on staff 24/7 anytime around the clock. If care is needed, there's somebody there. They also keep us well-informed when problems or issues arise. My father-in-law is very pleased with the food. We've only been in and eaten there a couple of times, but we were pleased with the food as well. He even has a small kitchenette in his room, but he prefers to eat what they serve. He doesn't participate in every activity, but they have bingo and movie days. They also have activities on the holidays. They'll have a Halloween party and something for all occasions. They have a small library and a beautician that comes in to give haircuts. If you're still driving, you can come and go as long as they know you're leaving.

My mom is moving to Webwood Assisted Living. The building itself, the facilities are only about four or five years old, and they're very well kept, very kinda modern lodge, kind of rustic feel in the great room. They have a beautiful patio across the back that looks out into the woods, it's a very good view. The other side views out over the golf course, so no matter what side you get on you have a relatively good view. Their dining room is a very lovely setup and has tables of four, and they have different entrees every day, and then they also have items where you can order the same thing every day, like if you wanted a cheeseburger every day. They always have that or some kind of a sandwich or something, but they do have special entrees, like spaghetti or baked chicken or lasagna or, you know, different items throughout the week. And they publish the little menu ahead of time so everybody kind of knows what to expect, and then if they want something different they can tell the kitchen, so they have an option. My mom is going into a one-bedroom, and it's very spacious. The living room is big enough to fit a couch, TV, a side chair, and maybe a curio cabinet and a coffee table. The bedroom is quite large, you could fit in a queen size bed easily, two dressers, and a chest of drawers, and the closet is kind of a walk-in closet and you could put a chest of drawers in there. The kitchen has a peninsula so you can have a little breakfast bar, you can add a couple of bar stools so you'll have a place to eat. My mom met with the nurse who evaluated her and who was very gentle, very kind, and very good at explaining what she was doing and what the questions meant. She's a very lovely nurse. The administrator was welcoming and accommodating. They don't have storage lockers but they have a storage area set aside for each resident to have their stuff stored. The only ones who can get to it are the staff members, so you have to label your stuff and ask them kindly to go down and retrieve what you need. We ate there and their food was delicious. The portions were great and they had a variety of beverages like coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade, milk, chocolate milk, you name it. They always had salad and they had a variety of dressings, so it's very lovely food service, and it's cooked right there, it's all homemade, it's not anything by Sysco or anything like that. Every staff person that I saw came up to me and said, "Welcome, hi, how are you doing?" They're very, very friendly. The hallways were nice and wide, the decorations were beautiful, it's a very lovely setting.

I did a tour of Webwood Assisted Living. I came in and I met with the manager. We sat down in their main hall where they have eating and congregating kind of thing to discuss what my needs were. We felt like it was not going to work for my dad. It would have required that he be more able to do it on his own. I was very pleased with the staff and the people that I talked to. They were very helpful and wonderful. I didn't go into any of the rooms, but what I saw was very nice. It was also very homey. It didn't feel like a hospital or a nursing home kind of facility. It felt like a very nice apartment kind of home. The staff we talked to was a nice, young, Christian man who explained to us about all of their activities and what they do there. That is a very big plus for my dad since he is a retired minister. It was very close to where my mother was. It's not a bad thing for the facility, but the problem there was the minimum stay there would have been four months. They do not have, or they do not provide respite care, and I think that was typical of the ones that were all in Missouri. It did not fit what we were looking for. It's a very new community, and I don't believe it's been there very long. The building was a new, modern-type facility, all on one level. I did not go down the hallways to see what the apartments were like. They were similar though; I could tell from what the other place had because they were individual apartments. It wasn't a nursing home, it's a very nice, more of an individual apartment-type setting. But they were more of an assisted living type facility, and my dad was needing more care than what they could offer.

I went to Webwood Assisted Living. I have no complaints at all. It was great. It was very, very good, and I liked it because it was family-owned. It was a lot smaller, and they could help you better at that place. It was fantastic. I liked it.
