My father is over at Victorian Gardens and so far, it's been excellent. He has dementia, and usually, for something like that, he'd have to go to a nursing home. But with the care they give him over there, he's able to skip the nursing home and just live in a nice place like that. They help him out a lot. The staff cares about the people there, which is nice. They go out of their way for them. I have tried the food, the soup's really good while some of the other stuff is 50-50. Overall, it's pretty decent. They do quite a bit for the residents, they have shows and people that come in there, and they do dances and bingo. They took them on a couple of field trips already, they took them to a farm where they could pet horses and therapeutic stuff type things. Their facilities are very clean. You can't beat them for value for money, they're $2000-$3000 cheaper than everywhere else. Plus, he's got his own room. If he was in a nursing home, he'd be stuck with somebody else unless you're paying big bucks.

My sister is in Victorian Gardens in Eureka. It's an independent living community, but they will assist with some things. She has help with her medication and anything that she would need. Other than that, she's pretty much independent. My mom also lived there for years and passed away there. They took very good care of her. My sister has lived there for almost 4 years now, and they have done a lot for her. It was tough during COVID to have enough staff, and I know from what I've heard that everybody's having trouble with that. They too had trouble keeping staff, but the main people that have been there since my sister moved are still the same. Some of the people come and go pretty quickly. The head nurse and a couple of nurses there are all still the same. They've taken really good care of her. At one point she was in a wheelchair, so I started looking for a new place for her because they did not have the staff to help her with all of her needs. Now that she's back to walking again with a walker, she's doing well on her own. She's pretty much independent again, except for the medication part. I've had meals there, and they have very good food. They have lots of activities too, and they do different things. They go on scenic rides. They take them to a place where they have horses. They can brush the horses and even ride a horse with assistance, if they want and are able. They go to pretty nice restaurants within the area, too. They even made a garden outside that the residents could help plant. They do a lot.

I love the amenities at Victorian Gardens. The staff was really nice. They had a pool, a big open area that they could have entertainment, and a theater. I did not like that there was not enough outdoor space. The residents said the food was really good. The rooms were nice, but some of them were a far walk to the amenities.

I really like Victorian Gardens. It used to be a hotel and has a pool in its lower portion. It is very nice and clean. They provide two meals a day. They have everything that my brother needs. The stafff members are very nice. The food is good. It's expensive but good for the money, I think.
