Brookdale Hattiesburg Memory Care is a great facility. It was clean. The staff was engaging with the residents. The memory care portion is more like a nursing home than a retirement community, but it was very good, and you could tell that the staff cared about the people. They had private and semi-private rooms. You could share or not share a room, but the bathrooms were shared facilities. The rooms were nice, though.

Brookdale Hattiesburg has a clean environment and is well organized. They had a separate unit for dementia patients. It has its own building. They had a nurse on staff 24 hours a day. It was set up to protect them from wandering, so the doors were locked after a certain time. The staff members were very informative and helpful.

My mom is at Brookdale Hattiesburg. She has only been there for a month now. As far as I could tell, it's really for advanced Alzheimer's, for people that are advanced. I wouldn't consider it for like senior living, but it's like for people that need 24-hour care. From what I've seen, everybody is qualified for dealing with advanced dementia and Alzheimer's. The facility is nice, and from what I can tell, they're very educated in dealing with Alzheimer's. That’s what they mainly deal with. It’s a memory care unit. I've talked to my mom several times, and as far as I could tell, everything's pretty good. I can't say anything negative about it. The rooms may be 500-square feet. They’re clean and very nice. They have amenities there. They got a hair salon, physical therapy, and a nice courtyard. The staff is excellent. This is what they specialize in for people with advanced Alzheimer’s. It's a lockdown unit; the patients can't get out. This is for 24-hour care and they have to be watched. They have individual rooms, they have suites, and I think some of them were tandem rooms, where you can share to cut on the cost. They have like two people living in a room. My mom is living in a private room. It's cost me about $5600 a month, so it is pretty pricey. That’s a lot of money, $5600, but that includes everything. That's the Wi-Fi, the food, and all the amenities. It's all included for $5600, that’s for everything. There's no additional cost or anything. We know medications are charged separately. I haven't tasted their food, but from what I hear, it's supposedly pretty decent food. I think it's home-cooked. They cook it onsite. My mom hasn’t complained about it. They're pretty good at activities. They've been pretty up on that. They're involved. They’ll take the patients out and walk with them even outside. It's a lockdown unit. I know my mom got to walk around up to the regular living quarters for just assisted living people. They're pretty good with their patients, from what I can tell. As far as the structure and all, it's decent, it's nice, it's not rundown or anything. One thing I did notice about it is that there’s plenty of nurses, RNs, and LPNs. There's a lot of staff there unlike your traditional nursing home where you just got one or two or three people. There are several people that work on that floor. That's one thing I did note, and that’s probably why it's so expensive. You get very acute, one-on-one 24-hour care there for people with dementia and Alzheimer's. They’re pretty good about activities. They've got their own transportation bus. They’ll bring the patient to their doctors or the hospital. They have their transport busses and all that, so that’s pretty good. They're pretty pricey, but I looked around and a lot of other places are all aligned with that same price for the type of care my mom needs.

Brookdale Hattiesburg MC was a memory center. It was nice and clean. The staff members we spoke to were very helpful. They called several times after we were there to make sure that we did find a place and they were extremely helpful. Because of Covid, we couldn't go into the rooms. We just kind of walked around the hall. It seemed well kept.

I toured Brookdale Hattiesburg for my cousin. It was bright and cheerful. They had plenty of activities. The staff was friendly, and the people were up and friendly. It was very nice. There was a group playing games in the dining hall when we were there. They also had a library, a TV watching room, a beauty shop, and a transportation available for the people to go other places.

My mother is a resident at Brookdale Hattiesburg Memory Care. She is very happy and well cared for by the nurses, staff and of course, Cindy, the manager. No matter what my mother needs, it is provided, and my family and I are so appreciative and thankful for the quality care and attention she receives. My mother believes that Brookdale's Memory Care facility is her home, and at this point in her life, it is. If there is any update, I am notified immediately. My family and I could not ask for a better "new home" for our mother.

My mother was a resident of Brookdale Hattiesburg. They were patient with me and my mother because she was demanding. She didn't eat there, but they would encourage her by cutting the food up. They also got her into a lot of programs. She did crocheting and bingo. She was into most of the activities. She started to eat there, and they kept encouraging her. She gained 22 pounds and was doing really well. She began to really thrive there. The place was nice. They had fewer rooms but it was the quality of care I looked at mostly. Their cleanliness was managed very well. The clothing was sometimes scattered, which I can understand with that many people there, but my mother always had something clean to wear. They were good about answering phone calls and then giving it to my mother. They offered great transportation any time an appointment came up. They were right there. I would definitely recommend them. I also enjoyed their food.

My mom moved into Brookdale. It seemed pretty clean, and there is no smell when you go in. The staff seemed to be very caring, professional, helpful, and are doing the best they can. My mom seemed to be OK with the food. They need to have better communication with the families. Housekeeping, laundry, and therapy are all part of the package. They take the residents out on outings.

The employees at Brookdale Hattiesburg II (Formerly Emeritus at Pine Meadow) were very nice, courteous, very friendly, and very helpful. The place was really clean. They had a lot of activities throughout the day there . They had a chef. They don't have a cafeteria style dining, but more like restaurant dining. For activities, they let them count money. Some of them can't count anymore because their memory is bad. They also have karaoke and bingo. They have a patio outside that has a homey atmosphere.
