I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I wouldn't bring my dog to this facility. My dads toilet in his room had poop in it when I came on several occasions. The floors are always sticky and nasty. I had to get my dad out of this horrible environment into a much better nursing facility.

My mom is there now. She says it has taken almost 45 minutes for someone to respond to call light. She is there recovering from knee surgery and needs therapy. She sent a picture of head/footboard which has holes you could put a fist in. As a director in a facility like this- none of this is ok. She has said staff is friendly, enjoyed the activities and the therapy is going great.

Lakeview Nursing Center has been very good. We're very pleased with having mom there. They spend a good bit of time each day in rehab and the rehab therapists are just very caring, very patient with the people, and very encouraging. They're very adept at their calling. The nurses are wonderful, the technicians are wonderful, and the maintenance people are all wonderful. We don't have a complaint with any of them, except that I think they're probably working understaffed, like most people nowadays, but they do their best to rise to the occasion. It's an old building, but they have managed to bring it up to present-day standards very well and keep the old feel to it. It's clean. It doesn't have an old smell or feel to it like some old buildings do. It's fresh. I'm there for many of my mom's meal times, and they have very good food, too.

Lakeview Nursing Center is great. I'm glad that I've selected it for my brother. The staff has been wonderful too. He is in skilled nursing and he will transition into long-term care. They have two doctors on staff, and he has doctors' appointments that they set up and tests if they see it necessary. They transport him to and from those appointments. I haven't seen the food but I will see it this week. I'm having lunch with him for Thanksgiving. They have him on a specialized diet because he has no teeth. They're very accommodating. He doesn't stay in bed all the time, so they rearranged his room so his chair would be facing the TV. They have a lot of physical activities for the residents and they have an activity staff too. They provide bingo and a lot of other different games. They go around in the afternoon to give them coffee and talk to them. They have a great activities director. They have several outdoor courtyard areas and they also have peacocks on the ground. They call me any time that he may have a stomach ache or anything. They stay on top of everything. They noticed after he eats sometimes that his stomach hurts so the doctor had ordered an ultrasound to find out if maybe he had an ulcer and everything, so they're on top of their health. From what I've observed, the residents that I come across seem to be very pleased and very happy. They're allowed to leave their rooms whenever they want and if they're mobile. They can go in the hallways and visit with friends if they have made any there so it's nice.

The care at Lakeview Nursing Center is as good as it gets. The place is always clean, there is never any urine smell and they have amazing food. One thing didn't like is that they dress the patients, strap them in a wheelchair, and put them out in the hall. Then those same people say, "I have to go pee, somebody help me pee." It's sad. They have a beautiful facility, with a colonial-looking building for assisted living.

I visited this facility

Lakeview loves to talk about their beautiful lake and grounds with the peacocks. The lake may be a pond or mud puddle at best and the peacocks are filthy. You can't even walk outside and find a clean path to get to and from your car. The inside is so stuck in time, musty, and the patient's furniture is all broken down. It really is deplorable, The nurses don't look modern all dressed in yesteryear's white. Not surprised the nurses are not made to wear an old nurse's cap. Their attitude speaks for the same. The administrator (then, in 2016) could have been a joke. Be aware.

Lakeview Nursing appeared to be pretty good but very expensive as Medicare only pays a certain amount. Some of the staff is pretty decent and good, but my wife is a hardheaded person; she has to be forced into doing things. She is supposed to be doing a lot of exercise, and she is not doing it. She is also not eating when she is supposed to be eating much, but my wife is a picky eater.

I am a friend or relative of resident

I visited this facility and was shocked at the lack of cleanliness of the place since my mother was there 6 years ago! The wood floors are filthy with dirt caked into cracks, carpet in the main entrance is disgusting along with the most unflattering pictures of residents being flashed over and over on a TV. The activity room/dining room floor dirty with childish decorations which seem out of place for senior adults. Long picnic type tables from Walmart, it seems, make the entire room look like they jusy don't care enough to spend money on updating decor for their residents. All of this was within the first minute of walking in. The sight of a nurses aide popping a wheelie with a resident to get her down the hall in her wheelchair was enough for me. God only knows what I would have seen if I had been able to stomach going past the nurses station and down the hall. What happened to the Lakeview I knew years ago?

This facility neglected to inform the proper management of the facility of the possible neglect and mistreatment of my grandmother that will eventually end up being her demise. If you truly care for your loved one, please thoroughly inspect each facility before placing them here.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Before placing my loved one in this facility I looked around the entire South Mississippi area and this was the cleanest, quietist, friendliest and most beautiful facility around. Residents were fishing in pond in front of facility when we arrived and appeared to be having a ball. Also Peacocks roam the grounds. We first arrived on the rehab part of the building and was suprised to see the amount of nurses day and night. 2 LPN's and 2 RN's at all times and rehab was great. Later transferd to long term living side and found staff to be friendly and caring. Food is great and they even have a room service menu for resident to eat during the day. Really impressed and happy with this facility.

I am/was a resident of this facility

The facility is located in a beautiful setting with a very peaceful atmosphere. There is no Internet access for residents but other recreational activites to occupy residents time. The rehabilitation program is top notch and comparable with much larger facilites. The therapists were professional, caring, and extremely effective. The physical condition of the rehabilitation program rooms were above expectations. However, the rooms in the resident's living part of the facility are unsatisfactory and not compliant with handicapped or disabled standards. For example, nurses had to physically move beds to gain access for safe patient transfers. I frequently got "stuck" between the bed and wardrobe and in the unaccessible bathrooms. My chair would not fit between the toilet and the door or sink. I personally witnessed nurses physically and verbally abusing residents. Several of the nurses seemed to be the "bottom of the barrel" type employees. Many stunk of cigarette smoke as well. The facility is severely understaffed with nursing aids. Many publically complained about pay, work hours, and other staff members. The most disgusting thing I wittnessed was a resident being left in her chair in the corner of a hallway for over 12 hours without anyone taking time to check her or change her. So sad...
