My mother stayed at NorBella Rogers Assisted Living for respite for two weeks. It was OK. They're all efficiencies in this building or studios with no cooking or any of that type of stuff. It's fully assisted on one part and memory care on the other. The staff was friendly. My mom enjoyed everything there. They offer bingo and games, and for Easter, they made Easter bunny ears. They keep them busy all the time in the afternoon. The food was nice. She liked it. My mom has been in other facilities, long-term and then short-term, before respite care. Assisted living is a misnomer because it doesn't mean assisted. It's just what you pay for and nothing else. It's a very tight business. If you request or need something else, then it's going to cost you more. It's too expensive for the minimal amount of assistance they get, but it's good for seniors who can't live in their home or don't have anywhere else to go. They are very restricted. This place is not like a home; it's a hotel room. It's great for all the activities and visiting with elderly people, and the staff is friendly. I have no complaints about it, but for value for money, no. It was very nice and very clean. They kept her busy, but in assisted living, you get minimum, you get just what you request and are charged for.

My mother-in-law will move into NorBella Rogers. It's beautiful and it's brand new. When we asked what the most important thing for her to move into one of these places was, she said the view. She's got macular degeneration. She can see far away, but she can't see close up, and she wanted a view not of a parking lot, but of something. So, we chose this one because it has a little lake there with ducks all over the place, and it's got forestry and stuff right outside her window, and it's on the first level. They were fantastic. We met the health aides, the lady who checked us in, Erin, and met some of the residents and talked to them. We went there at lunchtime so we could see what was being served by the chef. Everybody there was very friendly and it looked like they liked their job. The facility is spotless.
