I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband was in Edenbrook Rochester nursing home for 2 weeks, but he wanted to go home so badly so I brought him home. I'm not to blame the place because I hear it's the same all over, but when my husband was there they were very short-staffed. He had to wait a while before they would answer the call button. I think they care and they did try. It's just that they did not have enough staff to care for all the residents they had. I wish the staff could have been there a little sooner when the people pressed the call buttons. The facility needs work done, too. They need to update it. When my husband was first put in, there was a heater hanging on the wall that was questionable. When he rolled out of bed, there were a lot of sharp edges that were exposed for him to roll out onto, which was nerve-wracking. I did request a second room, which was a little better. My husband did not care for the food at all. He did lose weight while he was there. I ordered one meal there, and I had a feeling it was a frozen burger, and it was okay. I personally did not have any expense put into it, but if my husband ever came back there and we had to do it at our own expense, I think it's too expensive for what you get.

Friend or relative of resident

My Grandma is a resident at Maple Manor in Rochester Minnesota. I visit her at least twice a month, and enjoy seeing her. The facility is a little bit old, but it accomodates the residents nicely. It is a single building, which is nice for wheelchairs. When I asked my Grandma if she liked it, she said that the staff was nice and that I should not worry about her, because she is happy. The only thing I heard her complain about was the food. I tried some of the food myself once, and I would agree that the food is about average. The beds are comfortable, and I would agree with Granny that the staff are nice. I would reccommmend this site for your loved ones if you are considering placement for a loved one.
