"I visited Spring Valley Estates and checked out their assisted living. They didn't have a lot of things going on, as far as activities were concerned. The person who gave me the tour was nice, though. The staff there was great. I would describe it as a beautiful place to live. The facilities were great and I liked it because it's in the countryside."

"My sister-in-law has a room there and she receives excellent care. She was in Caledonia where her care was also good, but she started not caring for herself after stools. Then she required more care that they could give. So she came to Rushford and has received wonderful care. She can get quite cranky, but they continue to treat her gently and lovingly. I highly recommend Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. "

"I went to visit this facility and took a tour and was really impressed. The staff were super friendly and said hello to me and as we walked around it was clear they had just done a lot of updating - like putting in new floors, painting and redecorating - I thought it looked lovely. Also, the clients seemed really content. I got a lot of good information about how assisted living works, which I really appreciated. Thanks for the tour! "

"The location is pretty poor, there is little or no parking. Had to walk a fair amount to get to the building. The building is in several parts on older and part newer, I was in the older part. It was very old, but was in good repair and seems built to last. The place was pretty clean, better than my house but I did feel like the place would have cleaner if the staff wanted it to be. It wasn't very homey and really reminded me of a warehouse built to house people, there is very little personality or even a chance for people to make it theirs. There where some pictures on the wall, most reminded me of a bad dorm room from college. I had dinner there and it was OK at best. The food was pretty boring. "

"I went to Aase Haugen Senior Services. For an Alzheimer's patient, they allowed the flexibility to roam. I didn't see the rest of the facility, just that area. At this point, they're short of staff and they weren't taking senior patients. The staff was very friendly there. I had no concerns. The rooms were spacious. They were big. There was enough room for a bed and even a loveseat, a chair, and a TV, but I only looked at the private rooms. The dining area was spacious, too. There's plenty of room for residents. They weren't on top of each other. There's plenty of room for them all to sit. I kind of like that. Even though it was dated, it was very clean. However, when I went there and I wanted to follow back up with them, nobody did, and that I don't like so well. There was no follow back up from that facility. I would send my husband there still. I only met two staff and the ones I observed were interacting with the residents."

"I happened to visit Caledonia Care and Rehab Buck, once my co-worker asked me to accompany him as he wanted to see his Mother in law. This was my first visit to any such facility and I had fairly high standards in my mind. Once we entered the facility, we did not find any parking place. It took us some time to park the car at some distance away and then enter the facility. Staff was not present at the reception so we had no one to guide us to her room. We managed to find the room and met the old lady. She was very unhappy about the behavior of the staff and food standard. She wanted to quit this facility as soon as possible. We found the corridors untidy and the building in a miserable condition. Mean while, the waitress had brought her lunch. The quality of food was low and utensils were not clean too. The residents were quite a few in numbers and looked gloomy. I did not find any life or home like environment here. The nursing staff was not present and we found no arrangements to handle the patient. My co-worker promised the lady to find some alternate arrangements for her. I was not impressed with the facility and would not recommend for loved ones. "
