"My uncle is comfortable at Kelly's Hillside Manor. He likes the other people who live there. He likes the guy who owns the place who also takes him to all his doctors' appointments. My uncle shares a room with a fella and they get along really well. The owner's wife is from the Philippines and she does all the cooking, so she cooks Filipino food and my uncle really likes it. The owner takes them out for a pizza once every two weeks and asks them if they want to go to a movie and if they do, he takes them. Don, the owner, is a really great guy who cares a lot about the people. He always talks to them and listens to what they have to say."

"I toured Blueberry Hill Assisted Living Lawton. I like that it was clean. The people were very friendly. The rooms were of a good size. They're not tiny, but they're not enormous either. All the meals are provided. The person during the tour was very informative, answered any questions that we had, and generally showed us around the facility. So she did a great job. The people stay in a room. They have activities that you can go on and they have meals that are prepared. The residents don't ever cook. They have three meals a day and a snack in the evening."

"We toured The Whitcomb Senior Living Tower. I like the view from the room that they showed. They seemed to have a lot of activities for the people there. It's located in a nice area. They have cards, concerts, and masses. They have a lot of things. The person who gave the tour was very outgoing and personable. They had a salon. They had different levels of care depending on what you needed. It looked like they had a good variety of food, but I didn't try it. They were in the middle of rehabbing it, so it's hard to give a good assessment of their overall facilities."

"We selected Cass County Nursing Home because it is close to home, and they offered services that we liked. It was excellent. The people working there were very accommodating. Everything was out in the open, and there was nothing to hide. It was worth recommending I guess because the residents and the staff seemed happy, it was clean, and it had a lot of features that aren't always offered in other places. They had a shuttle that would pick them up from the door, drive them off, and bring them back again with a very nominal fee. "

"I'm in The Village at Arborwood Senior Community. It's a wonderful community. It is independent only; there's no assisted living or memory care. It's a non-smoking facility, which I very much like. It is bright and cheerful. So far, the people have been absolutely wonderful. There's a little dog park out back, and it has plenty of carports and storage. The meals are not built into the rate. They are extra, with the lunches at $7 and suppers at $12. There is a full menu, and there is always regular food provided every day. The kitchen in each unit is very well set up. It's for independent people and a lot of them like to do their own cooking. "

I met everyone from nurses, nursing assistants, cooks, housekeepers, the young man who leads the activities and the administrator.
