"I toured Bickford of Canton and had a very good experience. It was a beautiful place. They were very helpful in explaining all their different services. We walked around the assisted living and memory care and were able to see that they were actively doing their services. The rooms were very clean and appropriate for the residents' needs. They provide 24/7 assistance and some activities to engage with the residents. Some were playing cards while some were doing some memory activities in another section."

"The rooms here did have a patio that led outside to a courtyard so my parents could let the dog out and that was important to us. The facility was beautiful. The staff really seemed to know the residents well, like the person who toured us knew the people in the building and they knew her. The residents were coming up and talking to me and telling me about living there. It seemed very homey. They had a salon and a library."

"I went to Serenity Manor. It's a home with a max of six residents. They have two owners, and one of them lives there. She lives in the upstairs apartment. There is always two to three staff, so you have a great ratio of staff to residents. Currently, none of the residents are ambulatory. Most of them are advanced dementia patients and need to be lifted with a Hoyer. Right now, it's not ideal for them, but that's what they're getting. Right now, advanced memory care is what they're getting now. I couldn't even talk to the patients because they were so demented. It's a higher level of care and a lot of one-on-one. I think one of the rooms is shared. It's extremely clean. When you walk in, you were in the kitchen common area. Off to the right are the dining room and the living room, and then behind the kitchen is an L-shaped hallway with bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, too. It's very clean and very nice. If I had somebody who needed 24-hour care like that, that'd be great. I was impressed with the staff, too. "

"The most important thing is my Mom is happy here! Yes, 24/7 care is expensive but necessary in my mom's case and renting an apartment and having live-in help was a lot more money. The caregivers are very supportive, friendly and helpful. The residents are right down the road from many restaurants, movie theaters, and shopping. They have scheduled luncheons, shopping, church, and excursions each week available with a shuttle bus."

"We're moving into Allegria Village. The apartment that we will have is completely done. It had $45,000 in upgrades and we like it. The staff who gave the tour was great. They have everything from a swimming pool to a club for trains and shipbuilding and all sorts of things. It's a place and they've got almost any amenity that you can think of."

"I visited here for my mother. It's beautiful, and I think they have a different theory on how to do things. I feel like there is going to be much more dignity and much more communication among the careworkers, so I think that's probably going to be our best choice if we decide to move mom. They have social distancing and masks at all times. We were happy with everything we saw there."

"Arden Court was referred to me from someone we knew. I also did an online search about this facility and when we went there, the staff was pretty good. People were very good, kind, and energetic. The medical staff is also good. They could probably improve their food quality a little bit, but overall we felt that they were the best facility in this area. "

"I toured Downriver Estates Senior Living. When I arrived, after reviewing the papers they gave me, I realized that this was not what I wanted. I don't need assisted living, at least not right now anyway, and that's why I didn't go back. The lady called and checked with me every time, but I said no. It was a very informative interview. The lady was very nice and informative, and willing to help me in any way she could. The apartments were very comfortable-looking. They have the cable and utilities that they pay for. They have laundry, and it's all included. They have transportation if you go to the doctors or whatever. There weren't too many amenities, and that was probably because the people who are there don't go out or anything like that. It's not a small building; it's a large building. I know they had a beautiful patio when I looked out the back area where people could go in the yard, and I think it's all fenced in. They have an area where you could sit outside in the air and that kind of stuff, but I didn't see a basketball court, a tennis court, or anything like that. It was beautiful, though."

"Tranquility Senior Living was more expensive and a little higher in my price range, but it was a nice and clean facility. The staff was also nice, informative, and helpful. They were really good. They told me about some other facilities that would probably be more in my price range. The facility didn't smell bad. The outside was nice. There was a garden in the front and I remember seeing flowers and a patio. The dining room was nice. Some of the residents were sitting in there with the staff."

"It was quiet, small, very serene, and very inviting. It's by far my favorite. The rooms were clean and comfy. The staff was exceptionally helpful, clear, and concise. I never felt like she was trying to sell me on the place. She even told me about other options. She's very welcoming and friendly. They had activities planned, but I got the feeling that it was a quieter place. Probably the biggest amenity they have was a fall detection system."

"Vibrant Life Superior Township was quite nice. The people that I met there and the people that I talked to were very kind and very helpful. I visited the memory care and it was clean and pleasant. It looked like the residents were well taken care of. It has a nice outdoor courtyard. The gentleman that is in charge was very kind and very nice. It was not the most updated/modern facility, but it was nice."

"The Bellaire would have been my number one pick. The apartments are very nice. They have some that are split rooms, one-bedrooms, and studios. It’s really nice. They have the living room area with a TV and a fireplace. It’s really homey. I like the fact that they do activities and outings. They have their own refrigerator in the room with them, but the stove doesn’t work. It is also more within my father’s budget. "
